The term basedlennial is funny to me because it was actually Generation X that created the whole "pop culture-obsessed manchild" archetype.
>>220509069Yeah but soiennials perfected it into a fine art
I thought arguing about movies, TV shows and comics was just nerd culture. Millennials are the ones obsessed with nostalgia and consumerism.
saar I am postings about the fightings between generations again
yes OP you have just discovered that calling everything millenial when millenials didn't make it is unfunny lazy shitposting
>>220509223fine distinction youve got there, really toeing the line
>>220509131gen x at least liked the GOOD star wars. millenials like the prequels and cry over The Rise of Skywalker lmao
>>220509223Yep that’s right, anon! I’m a 33 year old man and I watch Sesame Street everyday AMA Reddit!
>>220509277Star Wars was always baby shit for babies.
>>220509069that was correct they created a religion around Star Wars and collecting KISS merch
>>220509069Gen X was the first generation to be raised by television. They’re the first generation to speak in Simpsons quotes and name their kids after Star Wars characters. Millennials followed after them because we were also raised by television( and early internet). Zoomers and Gen Alpha were raised by the internet so they can only speak in memes.
>>220509277We also liked the OT
>>220509444>Gen X was the first generation to be raised by television.you mean boomers?
>>220509444pretty accurate actually
>>220509444>Gen X was the first generation to be raised by television.Boomers were.
>>220509069Nah. When we Gen X embraced "pop culture" it was actually counter culture and not mainstream. Grunge, punk, death metal, techno, slasher movies, shitty B-movies, scifi and fantasy, anime, video games etc. were frowned upon by mainstream society. We took to these things as a form of rebellion and genuine interest. We had to be genuine because liking them made you a loser. I remember being scolded at school by the English teacher for saying Asimov and Tolkien are great authors. Then the basedlennials came along and made it mainstream. Yes, this sounds hipsterish but that's the reality.
>>220509444>Gen X was the first generation to be raised by televisionChecked, but those were baby boomers, retard.
>>220511161You just sound retarded. Grunge is one of the most mainstream genres ever. Especially then
>>220512213actually boomers were raised more by radio than television
Have sex, lol jk I know you can't, enjoy therapy z fag
>>220509277>gen x at least liked the GOOD star wars. They were the ones who liked The Force Awakens
tbf Spaced is a great sitcom, but it's the sort of thing that had to be made exactly when it was.
>>220513556WRONG I had millennials pumping that shit to me as The Second Coming of Christ all year.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBMW3y86cpohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNfqzpCgu9k
>>220513164They weren't. radio's heyday was like 1930s/40sOldest Boomer was born in 1946 so there was a slim chance the ones born in late 1940s might've listened to radio more than watch televisionOnes born 1950 onwards would've been raised more by television
>>220513582"I loved it, it was everything I hoped it would be"--some Gen Xer
>>220509069Gen X = created good Star Wars like Mandalorian Season 1 and 2, Filoni is God, we like stuff like OT, and prequels are love/hate we love the world building but hate the stories, ST is trash, give me more heroin for my ballsMillennials - like the OT when it was cool but denounce them on social media now that its cool, hate Prequels but have a weird affection for Sequel Trilogy, the millennials are the only ones defending Last Jedi just saying.Gen Z- ambivalent to Star Wars but their favorite is Prequels it seems. They grew up with Clone Wars and I think it drips down to Prequel Love. Love mocking the TV shows, OT is some boomer shit but zoomers who love Andor watched and liked the OT.
>>220513649What? >Gen X = created good Star Wars like Mandalorian Season 1 and 2Favreau and Filoni are Gen Xers but so are JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson.Gen X and Millennials are split about the PT and STThe ones usually shitting on the PT while blindly praising the ST were usually shills and midwitellectuals that just happened to be Gen Xers and MillennialsRLM hates PT but praised Force Awakens even in spite of their criticisms; they're a bunch of Gen XersCritical Drinker and Mauler are Millennials and hate the ST. I think Nerdrotic is in his 50s so he's like a Gen XerThe older Millennials more likely don't like the Prequels and the younger Millennials are sometimes more likely in the same boat as Gen Z in liking the Prequels and Clone Wars stuff
>>220510989when the majority of boomers were kids, TV broadcasting only ran for six hours a day and they actually had two-parent households and siblings to play with because birth control and divorce hadn't been liberalised yet. broadcast TV didn't become recognisably modern until the 70s, by which time most children were Gen Xers.
>>220509277Not true. The Disney movies have made me realise only the first movie was ever any good.t. Born '95
