The loss of Shakespearean trained actors has been a disaster for movies and tv as a whole

Shakespeare is dull and doesn’t stand up to continental European writers of the period.
>>
Doesn't really matter because the writers are all trash. Good acting can't save a bad script

Sir Patrick Stewart was one of the best. Don't @ me

There are still Shakespearean-trained actors. They didn't just vanish. Even bigger actors these days tend to do theater on the side. Also, there clearly is no lack of good actors in general.

Yeah? Can you name any? How about from the past? Any prolific ones? Didn't think so.

Theatre is still a thing and most respected actors still do it

There's no more Shakespearian actors left, there's only amateurs playing Shakespeare and doing an atrocious job at it. The necessary histrionic style and ideal for Shakespeare to be intelligible and impressive on the stage has been forgotten. It's comparable to someone spending their life playing Beethoven but never having learnt the basics of fingering and tempo modification. Retards clap and praise modern Shakespeare performances because they've been told to but they don't really enjoy them or have any standards of quality. A total emperor's new clothes situation. Even Judi Dench complained that most young actors in the theatre lack vocal training, can't be heard and show no interest in studying the great actors of the past. Her recommended remedy was listening to John Gielgud.

I've never read any Shakespeare. I like hard sci-fi. What work of Shakespeare should I start with?

Stage acting is cringe

Live theatre is fun in ways movies aren't.
