How does a justice system determine that a crime is so severe that it warrants putting the dude away for 20 years, and then just letting him out? There should be a number of years threshold that you believe is just to deprive a human being of the most basic rights, and go ahead and execute him because he's clearly an irredeemable menace to society.
>>220512944You never admit our thing
He was looking for Prince Albert in there.
>>220513091the bigger the crime the more the time, my friend, it's no state secret what you're looking at serving if you get caught, they publish these sentencing "guidelines", and most criminals are well aware of such thingstl;dr long stays are the deterrent
>>220513091I don't know. Watching some of the Youtube prison dudes who have been reformed after lengthy sentences makes me think it's possible to change inside prison, though it's probably rare.

>>220512944CP.
>>220513091Also your reason for committing a crime should be taken into account, and it isn't. If you kill someone because they raped your child and killed your pet, for instance, that's given the same sentence as if you randomly killed an innocent person for no reason. It's insane an unethical to give the same sentence for a certain crime every time it's committed regardless of everything.
>>220512944>Spend 20 years in prison because you were loyle to your cappo>Get out>Some nepo baby has you shot in the head in front of your children and wife essentially because you expected him to uphold known rules of conductIf he wasn't such a retard for the mafia, you'd feel bad for him
>>220513614no it isn't
>>220513091Simple: statistically, criminal and particularly violent behavior is very age skewed. The 20 year standard is basically just there to age the criminal out of the more severe aspects of criminality. It's like if you wanted to make reproduction illegal, you'd throw women in prison for 30 years for having sex - thus the problem solves itself
