In the latest episode it kinda goes against this, the kid's father seeks custody and points out that Margo's life is a mess and not a good place to raise a kid and then her life and the people around her actually get exposed as the fucked up situation it really is.

It's one of the actually decent shows to come out in the last 10 years, don't let your chuddism keep you from watching it.
