>Someday? Someday my dream will come? One night you'll wake up and you'll discover it never happened. It's all turned around on you. It never will. Suddenly, you are old. Didn't happen. And it never will because you were never going to do it anyway.
What the fuck are you still doing on /tv/?

Those are just words in a movie.

Thanks for the advice, Mr. Murderer man. You must be really smart to have such wisdom.

Not really advice, a wakeup call.

boomer subhuman father tortured me and gave me a lung disease

Its okay not to accomplish your dreams, most people dont. Life is about loss. Its enough to be happy with what you manage to get. And don't be a psychopath

Everything Mann did after Heat kind of sucked.
>>
This shit resonated with me. Life just passes you by, it doesn't matter how talented you are.

Collateral is a good moviefilm
>>
>>220516157
Collateral is better than Heat, and Heat is better than corny shit like The Keep and Manhunter. Mann was never all that great, and where Collateral succeeds it's mostly because of Cruise. Say what you will about that sofa-bouncing Scientologist, but he had real screen presence in those days. It's sad to see him try to keep the show going in his sixties. He is an elderly man, and looks like one. He should be taking mature dramatic roles, not playing the action hero.

Clearly you missed the point.
It's not about "not realizing your dreams" it's about NOT EVEN TRYING, just saying you'll do great things your whole life and never even moving towards them.
That's what the cab driver was doing, that what most people are doing, until it's too late; you're old, about to die and never did anything.

I have no dreams and I care a bit less about everything by the day.

>you're old, about to die and never did anything.

But so what? Suppose you do achieve all your dreams. Then you get old, die, and lose everything you worked for. You can talk about "muh legacy" but that only matters to the religious man who believes he will sit on his cloud in heaven and watch his legacy unfold in the mortal realm. If you don't believe in that comforting fairytale, then the harsh truth is it scarcely matters what you do with your life. The Silicon Valley billionaire and the homeless junkie both end their short time on Earth in the exact same way, with the death of consciousness and the return to oblivion.

Why would an assassin have this conversation with the taxi driver he's using as transport and patsy
Also why would an assassin rely on a taxi driver in such a way anyway
Why would they send one man to kill five people
This movie was fucking stupid

You're really not getting this anon.
It has nothing to do with getting your name in the history books or passing the genetic torch.
It is literally about having a dream and working to achieve that dream.
A book you want to write
A game you want to make
A film you want to make
A sport you want to be the best at
An engineering project you want to complete
A business you want to build

It's about wanting to do something and never doing it.
Not your existential bullshit about all becoming dust
>>
>>220514448

I don’t have a dream.

You can follow your dreams and browse /tv/. They aren't mutually exclusive activities
>>
>>220517663
lmao, this board is loser central. No one here is following his dream. Even if some strange person dreamed of discussing film and television on the film and television board, his dream would come to naught, because we can't even stay on topic in this shithole. Make a sincere film thread and watch it plummet into the archive. Make a thread about trannies, chuds, or fat women however, and see your post count shoot to the sky.

the point is that a finite life spent in a state of struggle is better than a finite unlife spent in a state of neurotic stasis. moreover, the stasis is precisely a delusional rejection of the finiteness of life: the neurotic believes as long as he remains motionless time will stand still also.
>>
>>220517765
>the neurotic
You're assuming that the idler is always a neurotic and defeated by his own anxieties. But I think the average do-nothing is someone who just doesn't give a fuck about any of it. When we're children we're always encouraged to compete, but many find the competition hollow and unrewarding, even at that early age. The approval of your peers is worth nothing if you have a low opinion of your peers, which you will, because school brings out the worst in everyone. You'll probably feel the same way when you arrive in the adult world. Status symbols and materialism are equally worthless in this case. "Prove yourself," is the dream. But who the fuck am I supposed to prove myself to? The ordinary man on the street? I don't care what he thinks, he's a prick. And I don't care what Tom Cruise thinks, for perfectly obvious reasons.
>>
>>220518007
living isn't good because it earns approval, it's good in itself, for you. this whole routine you just did about "not caring," on the other hand, is very much aimed at other people, it's very much about "status." you are trying to prove yourself to me right now.
>>
This happened to me. It's not bad and it's not worth worrying about. Just enjoy yourself lads.
