Is it an incredibly flawed adaption with various egregious errors and baffling creative choices? Yes. Does it have more charm and flair and capture the spirit of the books better than DV's bland celebrity culture slop? Also yes.

>>220520851This version of Dune will be forever in my memory for better and for worse
Bad adaptation great movie.
>>220520851>Is it an incredibly flawed adaptionI have seen people repeat that line for years and I finally got around to reading the first few Dune books and I think the people making that argument are speaking pure bullshit.Large parts of the film are word for word from the book and while changes were made they kept the bulk of the story intact. The film works as a film. tl;dr people like to bitch
>>220520851it would have been a masterpiece of they'd left Lynch alone to weave his madness.
In a butter world Jodo and Lunch would have perfomed the fusion dance and made the movie toegtehr.
>>220520851Sienkiewicz's comic adaptation is fucking awesome.
