This is their genius plan to escape? Become literal terrorists and then board some helicopters with some hostages to... somewhere and then somehow they're supposed to just somehow get to a non-extradition treaty country, aka North Korea / Vietnam / China / Russia / most of Africa? Sounds like fun, not to mention that those countries would likely be heavily incentivized to return these guys back to the US because of their criminal status, even a pariah state isn't going to want some terrorist that threatened to use nerve gas on civilians in their country, and at the very least they would use these guys as exchange in getting someone they wanted in US custody back to their country, especially in the case of Russia or China.
