In seasons one and two I thought they'd never kill Jim because he's such an essential character, he's one of the core elements of the show. Then in the second half of season 3 I realized Jim doesn't do shit anymore, he's given up on everything that made him important to the story and his entire character was just having the same conversations with his wife again and again. The next character they kill is going to be one that they've run out of things to do with.

Donna is very possible but it also feels like they're building up to her completely snapping. That may be the CAUSE of her death, but it's still a place for her to go. They might be out of things to do with Elgin but they might also be going for a redemption arc with him.

Marielle does fucking nothing. She did almost nothing from the moment they got there, her withdrawals and addiction turned out to be a huge nothingburger, no one reacted very strongly to her being in a coma, all she is is the second nurse for when Kristi is busy. It feels like the entire purpose of her character was to have that weird moment when Kristi recognizes her upon her arrival, and they didn't know what to do with her character afterwards.

Donna is the last person to snap. She's been the voice of reason and logic the entire series. Regardless of who dies she's always held it together.
