While everyone is sperging about removing British accents, daddy, niggers, rap soundtrack and tranny in movie I'm more disappointed that with all those fat bugdets they still havent made proper adaption filmed in Greece, spoken in ancient Greek with Mediterranean phenotype actors.

just say black

I dunno, maybe because Greece is a shithole with a third world tier economy and is drowning in so much debt it cannot afford something of that magnitude and ambition?

You might be able to pull off the other two parts of that plan, but no studio is going to fund a big-budget historical epic that isn't voiced in English.

Even fairly successful stuff like the Passion of the Christ had to be done with a shoestring budget.

Passion of christ made 30 times the money of its budget even though it was in aramaic and latin.
>>
complaining they're speaking English is like saying "there are lights shining on the actors".

So, it's an entirely reasonable complaint?

Because naturalistically lit films are pure kino.

That is an exception because movies about Jesus will always be successful
