>mega fan Stephen Colbert directing a sequel movie to LOTR
>the GOAT Peter Jackson making simmerillion movies
Ringbros, we eating good.
>>
>>220529829
Even if Colbert really is a mega fan he's still gonna fuck it up with politics, it will just be slightly more faithful propaganda than the usual.
>>
Ringbros, we're gonna be the ropebros if this keeps up.
>>
Great so they are going to ruin Middle-earth as bad as they have Star Wars

wonder which old fictional series that will mass rape into the ground after these

I'm fully convinced the lord of the ring trilogy was lightning in a bottle after watching the horrible piece of shit butchery he performed on the hobbit. He's a hack who got lucky.
>>
>>220529829
What is even the logic of Colbert's flick? Old Sam bookending a story about the few days missing from Fellowship, with the old cast looking obviously 20 years older? This and the Gollum turd are beyond the bottom of the barrel.
Hackson is going to FEAST and shit out corny nuggets, but at least there's something to work with.

I think they might be out. They already did all the classic pop movies; Terminator, Robocop, Ghostbusters, The Thing, etc. Then they did the long-running stuff like Star Trek, superheroes, and Star Wars. They tried video games and still are but no one cares about video game movies and god willing no one ever will. So what's left? Stargate I guess, but that's already scraping the bottom of the barrel because Stargate raped itself pre-emptively to show how crazy it was. What's left? Is there anything from the 80s to the 00s that hasn't been desecrated?

All I got is a remake of Sopranos and a Big Trouble in Little China cinematic universe.

Westerners have already been shifting to subvert Japanese culture for over a decade now, their next target has been anime and manga.

Start the cycle over again. New new Judge Dredd, new new Total Recall, Home Alone 9, GroundHog Day (but with a gay chick)

It's so he can have a Drumpf and Vax metaphor at the same time

Sam will find a golden mask of protection and have to fight an incarnation of Sauron known as the Orange Ogre who is spreading an evil pox across the land, only after he is given the Vax of Power by an Elf will he be able to defeat the Orange Ogre and save Middle-earth

There will be a five minutes musicial scene about the Orange Ogre and Two Scoops of Hobbits
>>
>>220530094
While deeply troubling for weebs, I think that might go over as well as video game movies and so the pain will be brief.

>>220530102
This seems incredibly plausible and I can't wait for the third reboot of Ghostbusters.

A mega fan, or even a good fan with a modicum of sense, would know not to make a sequel of Lord of the Rings. Especially because Tolkien explicitly decided it was a bad idea after trying to think of a possible sequel.
>>
>>220530127
>I think that might go over as well as video game movies and so the pain will be brief.
I don't pay attention to video game movies because lmao but haven't there already been more pozzflix adaptations of Japanese art already? And plus it's not just the subversive adaptations created by the west that's the problem, it's western companies funding Japanese animation studios to gain power and influence over what they create e.g. netflix and amazon being listed as producers. Possibly worse because it's harder to detect and less obvious to defend against.
>>
>>220529829
Please god, no. It'll end up just like fucking Hobbit.
>>
Colbert thinking that he's going to write a Lord of the Rings sequel is one of the most arrogant things I've ever heard. He has never written a movie. His only writing credits are for comedy tv shows. His first feature length screenplay is going to be a fantasy epic and a sequel to one of the most beloved stories of all time? I don't think this will ever actually be made, but he should be shamed for even talking about it.
>>
>>220530059
didn't they already rape the sopranos with a prequel
>>
>>220530194
the fuck? Hobbit was kino.
>>
>>220530177
>Colbert
I guess I can make a movie? I mean what else do I got going, it's a great opportunity and I do love Lord of the Rings... I'll do it!

>Jackson
I refuse.
>Jackson threatened with blacklisting and endless legal battles
Maybe I can redeem myself.

It's lose-lose for everyone involved. They hate their lives, we hate the product, the companies don't make their money back, and everyone working on the set gets permanent spiritual damage to their soul that never heals. That's showbusiness, baby!

The first hour of Unexpected Journey is kino. It's all downhill from there for the next seven hours.
>>
Does nobody realize we're done with movies? They can't make good ones anymore even if they tried.
>>
>>220530307
The battles were epic, fuck you.

It would be cooler if they made prequel films for each of the fellowship members
>Boromir: Origins

etc. You could de-age them easily

It's hard to imagine there was a time when he was mostly beloved and seen as the opposite of Lucas.

Now Lucas is more liked than Hackson.

Colbert is one of the three writers, he is not directing

Why does the extremely Left wing and incredibly rich Colbert get chosen to write the new film and not any of the actual Tolkien/Lord of the Rings experts who have written books about Tolkien's works as well as written their own stories?

>>220529969

The Silmarillion isn't just the ancient history of Middle Earth, but it also seems like a bunch of short stories stretched out over a a long epoch. Might be best to get various directors to shoot movies based on different tales told in the Silmarillion instead of getting Peter Jackson to do the whole thing.

There's barely even an old Judge Dredd. One point five movies at most, the Stallone one being absolutely fucking terrible.
>>
>>220529829
What a fucking retarded idea. Not that it won't be worth it to see you prick-eaters lose your shit over his adaptation of Beren the Retard and Luthien the Girlboss, which *will* be the principal element in any attempt of Jackson's to adapt the Silmarillion.
>>
>>220535206
Him, Ralph Bakshi (whom Jackson plagiarized shamelessly), Rankin-Bass and whoever's responsible for the Rings of Power. Mind you, I think the largest share of blame for that debacle belongs to Bezos, the piece of shit, who you just know was stamping his feet and screeching "WHERE'S MY GAME OF THRONES?".

It's not as if it wasn't "progressive" for its time anyway, but Pratchett could blend it into a story neatly in a way modern TV writers couldn't even begin to comprehend. That most recent thing they shat out was utterly repulsive.
