Still the best movie of the year so far.
>>
Looks like a chickflick

>tall handsome white man
>can't get anything better than a half negro mutt girl

Categorically maybe. It's in the structure of a romantic comedy, but not in the spirit of one. I think the premise and the anxious tone would turn off most women that like typical chick flicks.

Ok thanks for telling me not to watch bro

>>220530535
No worries, you'll miss out on one of RPatt's best performances though.

Doubt

My gf told me that it sucks because Zendaya didn't actually kill anyone or something like that. That's the movie where they talk about their crappy actions, right?
>>
>>220530466
I'm a 6'3" white guy and I would kill for a zendaya gf
>>
>>220530602
Yeah, the inciting incident is when the four main characters share the stories of the worst thing they've ever done the week before Pattinson and Zendaya's wedding. I'm not sure why your gf was expecting Zendaya to kill people in this movie.
>>
>>220530693
Nah it was about her not doing anything at all while everyone else done something. I wasn't paying too much attention, but I think it was it.

Best performance according to who, A24 interns on twitter? He just does the same anxious twitchy artboy routine he’s been cashing checks with since Good Time. It works, sure, but let’s not act like he transformed into Daniel Day-Lewis. If this is his peak we’re grading on a curve.

I get what you mean now. I think that was one of the better points of the movie. It plays heavily into the moral dilemma. Zendaya's character ultimately didn't go through with her plan, but can people look past the fact that she 100% intended to do it? The movie doesn't give any easy cop out like she had a revelation and stopped herself from going through with it. That change of heart didn't come until later on. The only reason she didn't follow through on her plan was because someone already beat her to the punch.

I saw the trailer several times and thought she was just an abusive bpd girlfriend. But then I read what it was about. So him acting weird and afraid of her is just because of what she told him?
>>
>>220530460
It isn't. The marketing is hilariously off target.
>>
>>220531123
She also is deaf in one ear and lied about being born with it

She actually accidentally deafened herself while practicing her school shooting target shooting with a rifle in the woods

So it’s more fear of not really knowing who this person you thought you intimately knew and loved really is than literal fear she will murder him, though it is raised a few times both humously and seriously (like, every single reaction when it’s brought up as a hypothetical if they found out their male boyfriend was almost a school shooter was that they’d call the cops on them NOW, even though clearly they didn’t go through with it and years have passed)

I think it’s actually interesting because I think a guy in her position would be judged way harsher but they don’t really bring that up in the movie
>>
>>220530379
>give up plans to do a mass shooting because you got a tall white bf
>>
>>220531170
>a guy in her position would be judged way harsher
Yeah, I didn't really think about it, but I'm surprised they didn't make it the guy and go full 'because he used to be an incel' etc.

I really liked that this movie went out of its way to not make any excuses for Zendaya's character. Was it just something she fantasized about or had intrusive thoughts of? No, she did her research, she planned it out, she practiced for it, and had her weapons and manifesto ready to go. Was she motivated by bullying? No, we see the extent of the "bullying" she faced as a teen and it was very tame. Was she psychologically damaged by trauma? No, nothing bad ever happened to her. All she had was a neighbor girl she was kind of friends with that died in a car accident she didn't actually witness. She has no tragic backstory. She had no sudden change of heart. She was just a weird fucked up kid that was fascinated by and idolized mass shooters.

whats keeping you. go to a bar in a poor area- you'll see heaps of chicks that look like her that are approachable

Shes no Sydney Sweeney

True. All the heavy hitters come out in the second half of the year.

You mean a 4/10?

I'd say 28 Days Later Bone Temple was the better movie.
