I get hallucinations like this a lot. When you're half asleep in the middle of the night and your brain thinks there's a living shape in the room and your heartrate goes through the roof but then your brain clears out of sleep mode and there's nothing there.

This may sound ridiculous, but I loved the xcom games, and I got into old alien movies and the show X-Files. Then I was surprised to find out there is fully codified alien lore with the names of species, sizes, origins, etc. I also got surprised to find out there are people who actually believe this stuff. To me, alien shit was sort of full fake stuff like ghosts and magic.I remember I even created a thread here asking why scifi movies from the 1990s always had the alien invasion theme and all the aliens were grey with big heads.

In that case, I have scored a decisive blow for humanity, no matter what comes next.A more interesting question is what I would do if a 7+ foot tall mantid, tall white, metallic humanoid or reptilian arrived. I wouldn’t be so keen to physically attack one of them. I’d want to but I’d be intimidated physically. Whereas a Nordic wouldn’t set off alarm bells so immediately.
