Snyder's Batman was by far the most psychologically complex version of the character in any live action movie, and he did it with only half a movie dedicated to the character. All the others are puddle deep in their characterization: "Parents dead, now I will punch bad guy in the face, but never kill because only bad guys kill." Snyder actually challenged the character and tested his limits. It's the only mature and responsible take on the character, the others are just juvenile wish fulfillment.
