I seem to remember /v/ was leading the charge shortly before Elden Ring's release in saying that it was going to be shit and just more open world slop and would finally reveal FromSoft as the hacks they have always been.
But then it released to massive critical acclaim and huge financial success and everyone was pretty much immediately saying it was one of the greatest games ever made. So naturally, /v/ had an extended melty that made it difficult to discuss anything related to the game whatsoever (aside from the occasional Ranni and Melina feet threads)
