People really missed the point of the scene. It was symbolic, yes. But not in the way people usually think it is. Phil was a fag in denial, this in itself is one of the reason he hated Vito so much. But also because ultimately, Vito got to live his life as a faggot openly, which Phil will never be able to do.Even the conversation about compromising while incarcerated hints at this.You people lack media literacy and it shows.
