How did they get the organisms eating the sun from venus to test? We can't just fly to venus.
Why did they carelessly take the sample out the lab for Goslings venus test? What if it escaped the lab? Is it harmful to earth?
Why would earth trust Gosling if he says he can't do the job and he is taken against his will? Why is he the only one? Wouldn't a volunteer that is motivated be better?
Why did his crew die but he did not?
If the micro sun organisms are super fuel, why can't they bring more fuel? Why can they send only one ship? Wouldn't this fuel revolutionize space travel?
How does gosling's method of communication with Rocky work? How does recording rocky's language help either of them understand eachother?
Why does gosling never ask important questions about Rocky's home and species? They just show us millenial humor but no attempts to share vital knowledge.
What does his civilization know? How advanced are they? What is their culture like? He selfishly talks about earth millenial things but never anything else. Why wouldn't earth send another ship to investigate the alien in the end? Why is the old Grey haired lady in charge of earth? Where is the military? Once they save the sun, Wouldn't the existence of another civilization in space be a concern?
How do they know the micro organism predators will survive on venus?
How can he have fuel to send a bunch of pods but not make the journey himself? How can those pods travel the distance? How can they trust the pods?
Why does Rocky build gosling a biodome but not something for himself?
How does Rocky reproduce without his mate?

How do you know the movie is the stupid one, between you and the movie, if you have so many questions? The movie is less confused about you than you are about it, that's for sure.

Your language questions are the most worst part of this. Could you not infer what had happened? Obviously he makes a database of rock alien sounds which correlate to specific English words. He says a word and makes an expressive gesture toward the thing that word relates to. Rocky looks at that thing and makes a rock alien noise. Gosling treats that as a word match. He builds up a large database of nouns and starts to use inference to weed out conjunctive words that keep repeating in any context. With those he can make short caveman sentences in the rock alien language, which allows him to begin requesting a limited range of new words directly, which cascades into asking for words that he needs in order to ask for other words. Eventually he is able to say something like "my planet's sun is sick and Im here to try and save it", after hunting for these words very deliberately in order to do so, and communication is essentially established from there on.

It directly handwaved a bunch of details by the mere presence of AI, being presented to the real-life boomers of a post ChatGPT world (these people believe AI can do anything), so not only is it basically obvious how they built the language matcher, but they also included a noob tier excuse for people like you who might not understand.
>>
Seriously, the movie spends like 20 whole minutes depicting the obvious process of word matching so that you would feel scoientifically satisfied about these two fictional characters speaking to one another, and basically we all had to watch that part only for you to be confused about what happened and why.
>>
It's just supposed to be a fun movie, man. Who cares

Look at how many 5 stars it has, there's absolutely no way this wasn't botted. This was one of the most badly written popular movie I have ever seen. Saved hard by Rocky.
Not to mention how woke it is but that doesn't matter anymore I guess.
>>
I just watched it, pretty fun. I was expecting sloppa, but it was really fun, very nice pacing too.

>just turn your brain off bro
On the contrary, turn your brain on and maybe you wouldn't have so many stupid questions.

Are you retarded? The end scenes are on Eridia, Rockys homeworld. His fellow rockchads built a habitable biome on their homeworld for Goose.

The movie is retarded and has many flaws but your brain being backwards isn't part of the problem.

Here are better questions that actually matter to the plot

Why didn't he just exit the orbit with the collector dangling?

Why did he cut the line between the two ships in the end of the movie when we already saw that the alien ship can do it automatically?

We didn't know that Rocky can feel pain or what he was made of, but somehow Grace knew he was going to die slowly and painfully if he doesn't go back to help him?

Why does the ship have solar panels, I thought the black thingy was the energy source? and wouldn't they be useless most of the trip?

Why was there no European country representation at all but we get to see African fucking generals?? What would you need africa for? I bet the jewish director was jerking off writing this shit
.
Why did he risk the whole mission when he removed his helmet, just so he doesn't make him feel sad. No reasonable person would do something like that.

Why was it so normal for him to find a fucking alien ship out of nowhere and he doesn't say anything that whole part?
>>
>>220541716
>We didn't know that Rocky can feel pain or what he was made of, but somehow Grace knew he was going to die slowly and painfully if he doesn't go back to help him?
didn't rocky die at the deorbit scene and got resurrected?
>>
>How did they get the organisms eating the sun from venus to test? We can't just fly to venus.
They flew through the petrova line, collecting the samples in orbit of venus before slingshoting back to earth
>Why did they carelessly take the sample out the lab for Goslings venus test? What if it escaped the lab? Is it harmful to earth?
Deemed harmless after testing in the lab that would kill gosling if it wasn't. AS well as testing in a bunch of other locations
>Why would earth trust Gosling if he says he can't do the job and he is taken against his will? Why is he the only one? Wouldn't a volunteer that is motivated be better?
They didn't have time. Stratt had the final say and told
>Why did his crew die but he did not?
undisclosed. Likely a problem with the sedation/coma stuff or feeding tubes
>If the micro sun organisms are super fuel, why can't they bring more fuel? Why can they send only one ship? Wouldn't this fuel revolutionize space travel?
Fuel/weight ratio. Also, they spent a vast majority of the earth's energy charging them up
>How does gosling's method of communication with Rocky work? How does recording rocky's language help either of them understand eachother?
Dog they spent like most of the movie going over this. Essentially a python script turning audible noise into words and back
>Why does gosling never ask important questions about Rocky's home and species? They just show us millenial humor but no attempts to share vital knowledge.
He does, but moviegoers don't care. glanced off in the film as "wow, they are so smart but don't know about radiation and time dilation"
>What does his civilization know? How advanced are they? What is their culture like? He selfishly talks about earth millenial things but never anything else.
They are a really smart species, able to do most calculations in their head that we rely on computers for. It is a social taboo to eat in public (film descrepancy) and they live on a planet that has boiling oceans
>>
>Why wouldn't earth send another ship to investigate the alien in the end?
Not enough resources/time. Needed to focus on saving our sun.
>Why is the old Grey haired lady in charge of earth? Where is the military?
Stratt is a united nation elected representitive leader of the Hail Mary project to save the sun. Military can't help and was mostly tasked with keeping order
>Once they save the sun, Wouldn't the existence of another civilization in space be a concern?
Sure, but hopefully the shared trauma bond of dying stars and rocky's assistance will lead to better communications, even if it takes some 18 years to get a message to them
> How do they know the micro organism predators will survive on venus?
The astrophage can survive on Venus, so he creates the same atmospheric conditions of venus to train the taomeoba on to get them to hopefully survive there
>How can he have fuel to send a bunch of pods but not make the journey himself? How can those pods travel the distance? How can they trust the pods?
Pods have enough astrophage to send them quickly back. His ship is a lot more mass and could have made the journey on the limited supply of fuel on the ship but it would have taken much longer and he would have ran out of food. Billions more dead due to how long it took to get the taomeoba back to earth. 4 Drones for redundancy
>Why does Rocky build gosling a biodome but not something for himself?
rocky dosen't need one
>How does Rocky reproduce without his mate?
who knows, who cares?

TL;DR read the book, lol

We can't even land on the moon anymore..... yet we are supposed to believe they have the technology to just collect space microorganisms in the atmosphere of venus.... normally it takes years and years for probes to go anywhere in our galaxy and usually it's fake cgi bullshit so we don't even know if it's real.

I think you are retarded. Neither Ryan gosling or Rocky had enough fuel to get home. They were stranded in space forever apparently. They built the biodome in the tau whatever system

I really liked the movie, but the only questions I have is how did the Eridians become a space faring civilization and never know about electromagnetic radiation? They would've known about heat and radio waves to have any kind of advanced civilization. We can't perceive radiation outside of light and heat, but we know what's outside of the higher and lower frequencies.

Wait wait wait wait wait you’re telling me in this movie he has to go in a coma for 4 years to reach some bullshit cure for the retarded sun eating virus. But they somehow have to go back to Venus? What the fuck? The cure was on Venus this entire time? What the fuck? Why doesn’t he just stay on earth and let rocky finish the mission?

>We can't even land on the moon anymore
Uh anon, if the world is unironically at risk of ending all nations would just stop going at each other's throats for money and would make sure all the money on earth would go towards finding a fix. Going to space serves no purpose to the rich in this day and age.
>>
My wife and I watched it last night and both loved it. I thought Rocky was gonna die and I may have gotten a little teary eyed. I was very happy when they both survived.
>>
>>220546847
The cure wasn't in Venus, you moron. That's were the astrophages, the things killing the sun, were breeding out of control.
The taumoeba that they found in planet Adrian was the cure and they had to send to Venus so it could eat the astrophages.
It's not even a hard to follow sci-fi plot.

This movie is for children, fags and boomers

I think you are genuinely just to stupid for this movie but that's not surprising for /tv/

>We didn't know that Rocky can feel pain or what he was made of

That's not what's going on at all. The problem was that his fuel was destroyed. It doesn't matter what he is or isn't vulnerable to if he can't get home. Also he definitely knew Rocky could feel pain in any case. They talk a lot, as is even clearer in the book. They know a lot of things about each other.

>Why was there no European country representation at all but we get to see African fucking generals

The entire project is run by a European.

>Why was it so normal for him to find a fucking alien ship out of nowhere and he doesn't say anything that whole part

He wasn't acting like it was normal at all. Do you just never know what a character is thinking unless they specifically say "I'm freaking out".

>Why didn't he just exit the orbit with the collector dangling

I don't think its difficult to imagine that there are more risks to doing that than what they tried. They want to gather it and get it inside, secure it, as quickly as possible, and being in orbit means they are moving at constant speed in a constant direction, less chance of new forces fucking up or misdirecting the chain. They have every reason to expect they can easily stay in orbit for for longer than the whole process will take. The only disadvantage is that they have to deal with gravity while on the hull of the ship. The only reason anything went wrong is because of a hole in the hull.

And if it was possible to winch while out of orbit, what would have happened is the fuel would have started blowing out before they got the sample inside, almost certainly being lost and maybe helping damage the ship. Fear of unforeseen, unpredictable factors like this would likely have been behind the decision to make getting the sample inside the ship as fast as possible a top priority

You think youre being funny, and youre right, but its still too realistic. My mother was like this and could not shut the fuck up asking about the movie she was talking over.
