I think the writers hate the actor
they had Hughie forgive a train even though he killed his girlfriend
they humiliate the character like when lamplighter called him a cuck of maeve called him a twink
they had scenes where he gets rapes for laughs
He essentially got raped by a shapeshifter and starlight said it was his fault. literally victim blaming
they killed his irl wife brutally in the show
His character essentially doesn't do anything in the show. Even frenchie is more useful
