I just finished the show. Why does it just feel like the Writers were virtue signaling how good of liberals they were?

>muh blacks are actually human too
>muh bush America was xenophobic
>muh the bad guys are bad and you shouldn't like them! Look how mean they are!!!

Why do we like this show again?
>>
You're a retard

Possibly, How come
>>
>>220542613
>>220542640
filtered by the fucking sopranos lmfao
>>
>>220542613
It's supposed to be shit and you're supposed to like it in spite of that. Filtered
>>
>>220542802
It's supposed to be shit??
How am I supposed to like it???
>>
Watched it once loved it. Now upon rewatch I find myself annoyed these superficial political problems. How do I overcome
>>
>>220543147
Which of the 'political problem's are 'superficial?'
>>
>>220543174
My own perspective, I keep getting caught in this annoying feedback loop of worrying more about what the writers are trying to say instead of enjoying the show. I can barely enjoy Tony's actions, becuase I keep seeing Chase's smug face.
I know I'm misunderstanding but I do not know how
>>
>>220543236
I've seen the series 3 times, every time i enjoy it a different way. Maybe don't try to see what is not there.

>>
>>220543236
Also I read some of Sopranos Sessions, which in hindsight seems like a bad choice
>>
>>220543259
Have you listened to commentaries?
>>
>>220543345
No, nor have i listen any of the podcast or other nonsense. For me, TV series is its own 'thing'. I dont really care for the behind the scenes things and such. I feel it would just take away from the 'product'.
>>
>>220543389
Even the creators? Why not
>>
Aye, it's woke AF. David Chase was actually one of the original Commiefornians.
>>
>>220543236
It's called being mentally raped
>>
>>220543689
Yes yes, but how do I overcome!?
>>
>>220543937
Stop going on /pol/
>>
>>220542613
I only remember one episode with blacks
>>
>>220543994
I don't go on pol
>>
>>220542613
Most anons lack media literacy and miss this shit.
>tony say racist stuff tee hee just like me!
>>
Why can't zoomies watch any show without immediately having a shizo meltdown over politics and race shit?
>>
>>220544355
Media literacy is retarted. Once the pice is in the world it's anyone's interpretation.
>>
>>220544373
Well it's hard when the show is explicitly about said things
>>
>>220544520
>The Sopranos is about politics and race shit
Seek help
>>
>>220544496
I agree. I watched the sopranos and thought it was a cooking show until season 3.
>>
>>220542613
>>muh blacks are actually human too
they are
>>muh bush America was xenophobic
it was
>>muh the bad guys are bad and you shouldn't like them! Look how mean they are!!!
organized crime is bad, actually
>>
>>220544586
You jest but it's true. People peddling Media literacy are just consumers. Ready to go to the next thing. Why ask questions? All the answers are there, consider ideas? Ha! But the creator of Said piece has said all there is to say!
>>
>>220544637
Fair but doesn't that make the experience of watching Sopranos a bit of slog? If it's just preaching the correct morals? What's the point of watching

Remember when Carm got super horny for Tony after whacking Bevilacqua? Why are women so turned on by violent psychos when the violence isn't directed at them?
>>
>>220542613
In 2000 years, AI archaeologists will discover that the height of the lost 'TV' artform of their extinct primate ancestors was a tale of one primate's lust for cured pork neck. What will they think of us then?
>>
>>220542640
>>muh blacks are actually human too
Blacks are depicted as thugs in the show as well
>muh bush America was xenophobic
Wasn't that mostly preached by AJ, who is a teenage retard?
>muh the bad guys are bad and you shouldn't like them! Look how mean they are!!!
Yeah? Everybody on the show is an absolute piece of shit that you shouldn't look up to in the slightest.
>>
>>220544788
>Why are women so turned on by violent psychos when the violence isn't directed at them?
Meanwhile, Tony's goomah from the third season was begging for him to kill her by choking her. Women are fucked up.
>>
>>220545148
Eh but she was actually suicidal and bipolar or some shit. I don't exactly remember her being turned on by that. But I only started my season 3 rewatch.
>>
>>220544909
While I do agree that it showed all these things. I would argue it emphasized these ideas in a liberal manner.
Anytime we see any of the characters say something racist, sexist, homophobic we are always shown some holoer than though voice of reason character shaking there head in disapproving dismay Example: Melfi.
>>
Honestly, I hate to admit it, but the show has some kind of proto-TDS. The more you watch it the more you can see the libtarded wokeness seep in.
...Actually now that I think about it, Trump was around when this was made, so you can actually call it legit TDS.
>>
>>220545375
Holder than thou*
Jesus christ
>>
>>220545417
See that's my theory too. But I also feel like the times we live in are just making it's social commentary come across as cheap, even though back then it was written with a more subtle mindset involved
>>
>>220545441
Holier! Fuckin christ
