Crazy how season 1 had structure, the characters at least had some depth (Homelander didn't go laser everyone he got mad at, he had a range of emotions, etc.) and the cast was varied from government agents to Supes to regular people to the Boys instead of everyone being dead and things being black and white

I rewatched season 1 and couldn't get through season 2 because the quality started to plummet. And knowing what season 5 is like I knew there was no reason to keep going. At least the comic, as a dark comedy, could be hilarious at times while preserving what the first season of the show had
