It's funny how Troy (2004) was so woke for the 2000s, having Achilles by le edgy reddit god hating atheist, and remove eveyrthing rmeotely supernatural, but in comparison to Nolan's new slop it looks almost faithful. Also it's funny how they go out of the way to pretend he wasn't gay for his cousin. >>220555662Because he was described as blonde in the Iliad
>>220555662>>220556184
>>220555662because blonde hair was normal among the greeks
>>220556184>>220556501Greeks where all brown. They look more like lightskins in the usa
>>220556184Achilles wasn't gay in the Illiad.Only later versions made it that way.
>>220556501Greeks look no different than Turks.

>Sir there is just no stopping him. he is too fast. too strong. too tactically smart on the battlefield. Did you try a kick in his balls?>No sir, there was no affect.
Troy is in Turkey, so Trojans were Turks.
>>220556547Coping greek brownoid

>>220556564Modern day Turkey isn't the same as what was in that area over 2000 years ago.
>>220556592Yet theyre still brown mud people same as before
>>220556592Do you think Ancient Anatolians just vanished after Turks took over?No they simply became Turkified and assimilated. Modern Turks are descendants of Ancient Anatolians like Hittites, Trojans, Lycians etc.

>>220556552If you can substitute with the word alter, it's 'affect'. Otherwise, it's effect, which describes an outcome rather than the action.>no sir, there was no alterAs opposed to>no sir, there was no effectOr>no sir, there was no alteration
Is Troy (2004) worth a watch? I remember seeing the original trailer...all those thousands of CGI boats...it just looked so cringe att, jumping onboard the "drunk with power of CGI" wagon. But one does soften with age and I guess it can't be worse than modern slop. Should I risk it?>inb4: black athena or whatever
>>220558195Its alright, it has some hyped moments. Its better than any movie slops nowadays.
>>220558195It came out when I was really getting into Age of mythology so for me at the time it was really my jam. It’s typical 2000’s era “Epic movie” with huge battles and ancient Greeks, don’t expect anything too deep or meaningful. The lead writer is the one who made the game of thrones tv series so make of that what you will
>>220556547>>220556569you will never have ancient greek dna mutt
>>220558195Rose Byrne is the darkest person in the movie.
>>220558300Good. My ancestry is from germania. Im a white giga chad
>>220558334oh yeah? how white? would you say, mayonaisse white?
>>220558195It's better than modern slop, as you said. They take some liberties with the story which is why I avoided it for so long, but it's refreshing to see only Europeans in a movie these days. Costumes and settings and actors all look good, no one's wearing fucking gray potato sacks or whatever like all modern historical flicks. Not sure Pitt is a good fit for a brooding Achilles but at least he looks the part.It kind of drags on a bit, but if you're into Homerics then you'll appreciate the effort they went to. Always strange to see gods removed from the genre when they're quite present in the story.
>>220556729Kek
>>220556184It's actually funny how Nolan's will probably be more based and true to the original but you fags are so obsessed with race and gender that you'll think this reddit-tier trash is better
>>220558598They wouldnt cast a sheeboon and a troon if they arent obssessed with identity politics
>>220558618Obsessed
>>220558598>you fags are so obsessed with race and gender that you'll think this reddit-tier trash is betterYes, because I can only suspend my disbelief so far. The gods interacting with mythological heroes? Makes sense. Ancient Greece/Troy being a modern multiculti dei hellhole with uggos? I'll save my money and go watch tiktoks of indian food or something instead if I want to be disgusted.
>>220558635Yes Hollyweird is obssessed
>>220558195ffs zoomer
>>220558659>because I can only suspend my disbelief so far.>They cast a women as helen of troy even though the greeks would have had a man depcit her>A tranny will have one scene as a young boy who appears briefly as a shade>I can't suspend my disbelief for thisSo when 90% of the movie doesn't even have scenes with Lupita and Ellen Page, why won't you be able to look past it?
>>220556184anon discovers the Overton window
>>220558659>This is what the greeks would have been watching irl>Both dudes btw
>>220558848Because I'm a person of principle, and the casting alone retracts my shekels from your grubbers.I also dislike all the rest of the casting choices aside from Hathaway as Penelope. I say this as a Pattinson fan, because he's going to be underutilized and bland as Antinous. >>220558920I'd unironically prefer an all-male theatrical edition, especially since Nolan is going for 'accuracy' to the times with a nigger rapper and no orchestra. All-male gimmick would be entertaining, even if played straight instead of for laughs.
>>220559050Your principles are incompatible with todays society. You and your ilk lost. The honorable thing for you to do now is to kill yourself since your principles will always be incompatible with us normal functioning human being.
>>220555521is this implying paris killed hector through his decisions? i'm too stupid
>>220559155No, it's saying that a father has kissed his tranny-son's hands, and he feels his tranny-son killed his real son.
Who asked for this?
>>220554371lol good one
>>220559452tbf those bangs DO kind of make her look like a roman senator
>>220556184Achilles as a character was always an edgy fag. They actually toned down how fucking incensed Achilles was during his fight against Hector. The man chased him around the walls of Troy for an hour until he butchered him and then dragged his corpse with his mount all the way back to the Delian camp. Homer was very in tune with what happens when you separate a Greek from his twink asspussy.
>>220556501No it wasn't. They had black or brown hair 90% of the time. The Greeks of that time genetically came from Assyria and Mesopotamia and were not fair haired. Blonde haired men were considered barbarian.
>>220559124Ah, oh no, better kill myself because I can't wait around for the left to eat itself with their tranny and lesbian offspring! I definitely am not in the process of fucking off out of society entirely, I'm trapped! I must either join the cultural marxists and their negro hoardes and mutt kids, or die....

>>220558195It was shit back then but compare to modern filmslop, it's decent

Greek Gods and demigods being portrayed with fair hair is a neoclassical invention designed by artists who descended from, what were back then, barbarian tribes.
