Christianity got kiked hard. They intentionally made priests and bishops celibate while they were originally allowed to marry and have children. Then they were focusing on gays being le evil instead of just ignoring faggotry as a whole, turning every flaming faggot to becoming religious to deal with his "demons", hence why a lot of priests are gay.

I'm not stating celibacy wasn't practised, but this was done on monks who lived a very privatized life away from citizen contact. There's a monk in Greece who doesn't even know what a woman looks like.
