Do you think black and brown actors ever feel odd taking roles like this, or are they just happy to get the role?
>>220555765There's 2 possible things going on:1. Maybe they are aware they are only getting hired because they are part of quotas not because they are the best2. They remember they are getting a job and being paid so they forget about it
They would have to be capable of introspection and morals to feel that way.
>>220556265This, and actors are glorified prostitutes.
>>220555765Happy to get paidPersonally I'd feel awkward about being the token white in a black film set in black history where I'm playing a historically black person or a black fictional character and the casting agents publicly say they need more white people in their filmsUnless it was some sort of fantasy film and I'm playing a god, I'd love that
Every time I see one of these bizarre anachronisms I think of the Rocket Raccoon comics from the 80s or that room full of costumed robots in Blade Runner.
>>220555765Why would they? They wuz everything in all of history and all of mythology.
