The way the dialogue and relationships are connected; Finn is the main character and they dropped his development halfway. Rey and Poe don’t have much entanglement, and they humiliate Poe in the second movie. There must have been some set ups for TLJ that he didn’t put in.

The worst scene in the entire trilogy is when Rey and Kylo go in and kill Snoke. Because it means Rey is the bad guy. Kylo we already know is bad. It makes both characters assassins. Presumably I don’t think Rey knows anything about Snoke…at all. Kylo and Rey have a “force connection” which isn’t explained which brought her there. Rey is lured in and is just stupid.

I remember watching TFA and seeing Finn with the lightsaber and thinking it was kinda cool letting a normalfag swing it around a bit. The moment that Rey got the lightsaber, I had the distinct thought "They're never going to let Finn hold that lightsaber again". On some instinctive level, I knew they'd never let him step on Rey's toes.

Rey goofing in her AT-AT house or healing the snake monster was sweet and endearing. Unfortunately these are little gems in big steaming turds of a movie. Every single Star Wars movies sounds like the coolest thing ever on paper but what makes it to the screen is just not good.

There isn’t anything to latch onto the characters that invokes happiness or hope. It works in the “good” new slop like Andor where the series is meant to be much darker in tone than the flagship films, but the OT and prequels were about maintaining hope, the sequels are about doom and gloom with sparks of “comedic relief” that flop because there’s no hope in reliving a Sisyphean Death Star episode.
