I've never watched Dragon Ball, but every time I see anything from it, it's Vegeta being wrecked, is the whole series really about him getting fucked all the time?

I sit back and thing about the dragon ball series and how perfect the Freeza fight really is. if you watch Dragonball it covers the rise of Goku from a child and his trials in youth. there are many people he meets along the way. tons of good fights happen in Dragonball. then it ends with Goku defeating Tien at the karate tournament or whatever. that feels like a major accomplishment in the show since he starts young. learns kamehameha wave and all the people. he fails at the 1st Martial Arts tournament. then gets stronger and comes back for the 2nd one. then DBZ kicks off, there is more world building and the biggest threat is Vegeta. to which yajirobi helps defeat a saiyan gorilla by cutting off his tail. such a nice piece since yajirobi is just a fat ass with a samurai sword that was so useful for once in the series for something. then after goku beaste vegeta, then the freeza arc starts. more good fights. then Freeza. planet namek is going to be destroyed completely the stakes are the highest its ever been in the show. then there is a 4 hour fight. yes that is right. the whole Goku VS Freeza battle is 4 hours. it didn't need to be. BUT IT WAS. defeating him and collecting the dragon balls was such a fitting end that you really don't have to venture beyond this point. BUT THEY DID AND I HATE THEM FOR IT.
