It's a good movie. /tv/ is full of retarded nigger, so they will shit on this and praise Project Hail Mary.

I suspect there must be some based and redpilled theme to this movie, which is why shills artificially and disproportionately attack any real or perceived flaws in it, but I didn't notice any political themes when I watched it.

Great film..ending made me cry

Unironically my favorite space movie aside from Apollo 13

It's the blatant "there is no Eden out there, we're all we've got, so we'll just have to work harder on cleaning up the mess we've tolerated so far in our God-given Home" message that really rustles their jimmies.

Good aesthetics. Space monke a good meme
How tf could a single space ship in our solar system conclusively prove no life exists in the rest of the nigh infinite universe

the part that breaks the movie for me is how they made it feel like a bus ride when Brad Pitt travels from Mars to Neptune, and don't get me started on how stupid it is when they move around in −200 °C like they're floating above earth
>>
>le crew died from... ZOMBIE SPACE BABOONS! O_o
>Subway advertising
>Brad Pitt you have to contact your father but you need to go all the way to mars to send the email, no you can't do it from Earth that's ridiculous
>Ok Brad Pitt we have to get you across the moon but there are Moon Pirates who will shoot us. Hop in to the golf kart
>I need to get back to my ship, I know, I'll rip off this door and football tackle Neptune's ring to get back safely
>>
>>220563392
It's shit, mostly because it failed to tie the movie to the ending.

Normies seem to have a hard time understanding just how fucking massive space is and how insurmountable unlikely it is that we will every find other life out there in space. Like sure, it’s more or less guaranteed that there is life out there just because of how big the universe is but by that same token, it’s also likely that we’ll never get to see it because it’s so far away and statistically it’s like one and one in a million trillion chance that life as we know it can form on a planet, really need like a perfect set of scenarios for a planet to harbor life like ours does. I think most normies don’t like this premise because it doesn’t have le heckin’ cool space alienrinos with big booba and science fiction faster than light travel that lets you conveniently jump around from planet to planet like you’re in some sort of video game.
Reality is space as we see in most fiction is pretty much a fantasy, that’s because real space stuff is boring to normies because it’s literally just massive amounts of nothingness and nothing happening pocketed with small amounts of concentrated energy as time goes on we’ll only get further and further apart.

Nah. When the technology appears, space will shrink with alarming speed. No one thought we'd ever find India, then one day along comes a guy named Columbus...and it wasn't that long ago.

>>220566105
you can't survive a -200°C atmosphere no matter what spacesuit you got on. In space itself you might but the movie specifically states they're inside neptune's atmosphere

>what is expansion and heat death of the universe lol
>>
>>220566147
Ah I see, yeah that was kinda stupid why didn’t they just have it in orbit or something?
