>too long>bad pacing>amnesia so they could cut in flashbacks was stupid>third act only exists because the characters are idiots4/10 (5 is average)
>>220564017>Producers: Aditya SoodSaar flick
>>220564017>(5 is average)So its okayIt isnt a generation changing masterpiece but doesn't intentionally make you feel physically repulsed by it nor is it a chore to watch inflicted upon you like what most people say when calling a movie dogshit
>>220564017Pretty much, with the caveat that the 4/10 is on a modern movie scale. Otherwise this is a much worse movie than a 4/10
It's a good movie.
>>220564142For me to poop on
>>220564104it's slightly below average. mostly carried by literally me, but also a lot of wasted time
I thought it was alright.Just skip past 95% of the earth sections. Most of the "omg im being wacky with muh alienbro!" sections. How long is the movie anyway? Like 2 and a half hours? Holy fuck dude, imagine sitting through all that shit. Skipping all the crap cuts it down to a reasonable like 1:30 length or something.Still full of glaring holes that you just sort of have to fill in by just assuming it happens off-screen (apparently, figuring out how to talk to an alien isn't interesting enough to warrant more than a couple of minutes, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the part where they decide on which voice suits him best is longer than them working out how to communicate), but whatever. It was "alright".I like goose, he has a sort of screen presence that I enjoy. Even if he seems to mostly just play the same character in everything he's in.
>>220564104>doesn't intentionally make you feel physically repulsed by it nor is it a chore to watch inflicted upon youi would say it's even worse: completely forgettable.there's a bunch of dumb stuff and only 1 or 2 things that actually "happen"i will probably forget everything about it in a couple months
>>220564377>apparently, figuring out how to talk to an alien isn't interesting enough to warrant more than a couple of minutes, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the part where they decide on which voice suits him best is longer than them working out how to communicateRocky's species seems far more advanced than humans and yet he couldn't figure out how to communicate with the human, the human had to do it.
>>220564017the dialogue and quips are very reddit but it grew on me for some reason as the movie went on.
leftypol hates it for some reason
>>220564421I didn't mind them because of Gosling but I got incredibly bored and frustrated when they went to the planet. Especially during the "fishing" scene when he did the spacewalk without getting the ship out of the atmosphere for some fucking reason, which then led to everything bad happening
>>220564451because it's positive and optimistic. mentally ill leftists are allergic to hopecore because they want everyone else to be in a perpetual state of miserableness because they know their ideology will never work.
>>220564461Bogling hasn't acted in a decent movie since Brade Runnah
>>220564497>hopecoreFuck off with your gimmicky TikTok neologisms
>>220564518my bad for not knowing the origin of every meme term ever, i'm not terminally online
>>220564518>All media that doesn't end in nihilism is le zoomer le cringe
>>220564518get with the times, old man. we're all tiktokmaxxing now.
>>220564017Fuck men. Why does this board shit on anything?
>>220564017Very entertaining, got me in the feefees a few times, 7.5/10
>>220564558Enjoying things, being happy or proud or just not miserable, this is all a great taboo on 4chan
>>220564581if ryan gosling's character wasn't so fucking jokey 99% of the time those moments probably would have paid off better
>>220564545can you even read
i have gosling fatigue
>>220564558/tv/ doesn't like movies
>>220564631he hasn't even been in more than one movie per year since 2022
it was a decent adaptation of the book
>>220564631For me it is the obnoxious zoomers online who have appropriated the "literally me" meme and use it to just fangirl over Gosling and comment on how handsome he is. Bunch of limpwristed faggots probably suck each other off.
>>220564461accelerating would create more drag on the sample and divert the chain too much towards the engines. haven't seen the movie yet, waiting for a good torrent, but I liked the book for the grounded sci-fi aspect of it ( aside of biology ).
>>220564631I don't, but we was miscast, I didn't buy his character
>>220564607>ryan gosling's character wasn't so fucking jokeyYeah that was a bit annoying
>>220564738there's been a proper webrip out for like a week or something.
It's actually a 9/10 movie.Love the lil rock fella.
>>220564992>5 limbsabsolutely abominable
>>220564895oh shit thanks my nigger.fucking groundhog day life, haven't checked for over a week apparently.
>>220564545Your version of the movie not ending in nihilism is the NGO good boy choosing to live among foreigners as a "teacher" while the walled woman + multiracial coalition saves the remaining scraps of humanity
Was actually shocked how bad this was, was expecting some cool scifi story but half the movie was a wacky quippy talking alien. Pretty clear there was a lot more to the book than we got in the flashbacks so maybe it's better.
>whoomp there it isHilarious...
its fun and the ending is goodpeople are just addicted to being miserable
>>220565673the alien is actually way more serious than grace, the comedy from rocky is the mistranslations, he doesn't really ever quip.
