most of these are highly rated. do you mean under watched?
Japanese cinema is still superior to Korean cinema though I do like Korean stuff from the mid 90s-up until around 2010 when the plastic surgery really turned Korean men and women into uncanny valley plastic china dolls. I got into Korean cinema because they are the only ones making Korean War movies.
Keeping with the Asian theme here are some gritty movies made in the Philippines by foreign directors. The Philippines is a great location for stories, locations, and actors but Filipinos themselves cant really make a movie worth watching
