I got my screener and this is a bunch of bullshit, homelander is killed but the finale isn't nearly as happy or big as this. Homelander dies like 30 or 40 minutes into the episode, with a fantastic performance by antony starr. Hughie takes v and ends up killing butcher when he finally decides to go scorched earth on all supes. There aren't really big destruction scenes, it's mostly contained fights with a lot of emotion behind them and homelander massacres a whole room of people on live television. I'd say it's superior to the season 4 finale but if you are expecting something like avengers or infinity war in terms of scale you will be disappointed.

One of them was the main protagonist going completely off the rails and becoming the final main antagonist, but the TV writers have been obsessed with softening him up into being a much milder antihero. There's no post-credits scene either. No hints about Vought Rising or The Boys Mexico at all really. There's no army of Supes and a lot of it is contained to a few locations.
