I skipped straight to season 1 episode 1 and watched the previous season recap, which looked pretty stupid, then watched the season 2 premiere because I like Topo Chico man.

Is there a point to this show? It seems to have nothing to say about anything, no morality, the plot barely has anything going on. Is it a show about crime? About family dyamics? Is it about aging and getting old? Is it a soap opera? It seems to just exist.

The premise is also nonsensical. Is it explained why none of his neighbors have security alarms or bother to file police reports? And he gave up a 7 figure job to steal watches? This is RETARDED.

>DUDE I WATCHED A SHOW FOR MIDDLE AGED WOMEN AND DID NOT LIKE IT VERY MUCH LMAO

The point of the show is to make money.

Idk it felt like someone owed Jon Hamm regular work after winning Emmy’s for amc
>>

>it's a jon hamm stars in some evil subversive garbage episode
>>
>>220568159
There aren't any ads, it's only costing Apple money
>>220568212
This makes more sense

The first season went downhill after he got framed for murder. It completely abandoned the theft plotline it set up to become boring legal shit

This (like every other Apple TV show) gets GIGA shilled everywhere
I have honestly never seen marketing so desperate as the ATV originals
They plaster ads all over Smart TVs, YouTube, and on 4chan apparently
It’s so off putting because they also try to posit themselves as “le intellectual high brow elite” streaming service, but they act like rabid fucking animals when it comes to publicity
Just sad

its an ad for watches
if a couple of schmucks buy a watch they saw on this show it breaks even
that's how expensive the watches are
>>
90% of shows these days are 2 hour movies stretched out to 16 hours of filler to sell subscriptions

>What is the point of this show?
Modern TV is made to placate women because they are the largest group of consumers because they have infinite disposable income and infinite free time because they aren't having children, and they don't have hobbies.

How do you go from creating Banshee, Quarry, Warrior and then make this stuck in the mud show?
>>

Nihilism is cool for leftist middle aged spinster who try and justify their poor choices from earlier in life

Hamm is such a fucking faggot, he tries so hard to ape Clooney as "I'm such a cool suave leftist white male"
>>
Apple like Amazon have billions of dollars to burn on media departments. Thats the point of the show.

Is the same with the Rings of Power, it doesn't even matter that the show is complete garbage, the point is to show your board that you are producing your own media.
Just fill your streaming platform with shit so people have something to watch.

Jon Hamm is perfect too because people will assume is like Mad men so they hook them on name recognition.

You just like to insert politics into everything is my guess. I don't see Hamm as very left leaning, not sure why you would other than he is an actor and gets jobs in Hollywood (like every other actor you love or hate)

Yeah they briefly mentioned in like the first episode I think that its a safe and trusting neighborhood. Sounds insane but it seems like pretty much everyone in the neighborhood knows each other so there might be a deeper level of community trust than you and I are used to. I think it's about all those things you listed and I don't think that is inherently a problem. Mad Men was also basically just a character driven soap opera that covered anything and everything about the time period and their families and stuff even though it was also an office drama.
The show isn't great but its the only other thing I have to watch on Thursdays so I keep up with it. Also his daughter in the show is hot and I am kinda into the really rich milf he fucked on the yacht a few weeks ago; she showed up again last week and I hope she keeps having sex with Don I mean uhhhh Coop
