what the fuck was his problem?
>>220570749Poor casting and even worse writing, Tony B was the worst part of the show (excluding Chasing It).
>>220570749Actually went to prison for mafia shit because his bitchmade cousin got in a fight with his mom and passed out. Comes out of the joint and his fat asshole cousin is now the boss of the family and lives in a mansion while he has to move back in with his mom. In a few weeks he does more work than Tony's done in 15 years and suddenly he's the one who needs to get clipped and not his fat idiot cousin who can't control his own crew or keep his personal life in order
Need context
>>220572464This guy knows. Him being a genius also rubbed everyone the wrong way. Like he was better than them and could escape.
>>220572050I love the show but I agree. Season 5 has a few clunky episodes but Tony B was the worst written part of it
He was actually ride-or-die.
>>220570749Someone asked him for a tip.
The mob settled into a low energy mode goomba shit while he was eager to flex
>>220570749Too high IQ for the mob.
>>220570749>>220572050would have been great if he had managed to kill the Tard brothers.
>>220572050The Sopranos had a major problem with bringing nemesis to Tony out of nowhere only to have them neatly wrapped up by the end of the season. Once Junior's crew is wiped out he just goes with the flow. Richie dies before he can start a war. Same with Ralph. Tony B goes off the reservation and he's dead within 5 episodes. Johnny Sac goes to jail before he can start a war and dies of cancer. Phil doesn't start a war until the absolute last few episodes and is neatly murdered before it can truly resolve. And Tony never has to put up with rival mafias moving in on his turf, the Russians, the cartels, etc, barely even exist in this show. For all his bitching about how hard mafia life is Tony has few actual problems. What ones he has either solve themselves or they get neatly wrapped up with no further effects on the crew. It's very lazy writing.
>>220572611yup, stupid people get very insecure around people that they know is demonstrably smarter than them. but then again at the end of the day they also win because they have no qualms using violence to eliminate you. it's why we psychopathy/sociopathy is endemic in our species.
We all agree that it was Tony behind the drive by cash drop right?
>>220570749the "high iq" people i've met, the ones who tell you that theyre high iq, were always tested as kids, and age is a factor of iq, essentially so long as a child isnt retarded, their iq will be high. i wonder if one of the writers was making fun of that archetype and tony b isnt even supposed to be all that smart within the context of the show.
>>220572050Gambling cunts like you hate chasing it because it shows the reality of gambling, also proves you missed out on the previous scenes where Tony's gambling was gradually getting worse throughout the late seasons. Dumb fucking cunt.
>>220572804Awlright but ya gotta get over it.
>>220572804>For all his bitching about how hard mafia life is Tony has few actual problems.nah, the ever-looming threat of going to jail for life will definitely take a few years off your life. also knowing that things only are getting worse for the mafia as time goes on (see the episode where they try to intimidate the starbucks manager).i will say though that tony's antagonists dying at the end of the season is very lazy. but at the same time they need to write storylines that people are invested in and then solve them in a timely manner for ratings. the only 2 series-spanning arcs are tony/carmela's relationship and tony and melfi (which ended fucking HORRIBLY). i guess you could say new jersey vs. new york kinda spans across seasons 4/5/6
When I first watched it I wasn't completely sold on season 1 but when I saw the season 2 opener with Sinatra playing, my eyes were watering by the end of it. I then knew the Sopranos was going to be the greatest series ever.
