No. Main characters are profoundly stupid, and not it's not even "real life stupid", shit is overboard. Maybe if there was character development portraying them as completely traumatized and fucked in the head I could see it, but the movie doesn't have that, the characters are just...there. Movie overall is stitched together very poorly, it's like Cronin came up with a bunch of separate "concepts" for scenes that could potentially be good, but it's all very awkward and doesn't work. The prologue makes it obvious what happened and the mystery subplot feels useless. The last act is comically bad with shitty special effects and the whole way the situation is resolving. It also feels like the very ending of the film was tacked on after test screenings.
Some gore is decent, some individual scenes are decent, the acting of the mother and the girls is good even if none of them have a well defined character, but the guy who plays the father is awful (he also played the boyfriend in Midsommar I think). Closest to a proper character is the Egyptian detective woman.

It's actually infuriatingly bad. Pretty much every character (but especially the parents) are the dumbest people you've ever seen in horror, and then anything even remotely interesting about the premise gets sidelined to just become another Evil Dead schlockfest.
