I marathoned it at my local kinoplex and I didn't hate it, it's a bit better than 1 just because the two main characters at least come from the games. I'd compare the "who's the lead" debate to Fury Road, it feels like Cage has more screentime and he is once again the audience's eyes, but the big conflict is Kitana's. I didn't like how sexless it was, I don't even need Cage to fuck Sonya, but at least have him be more of a flirt or something.

There's a 2021 movie, yeah. I think you can watch this one, you'll probably get it, the two leads here didn't appear in the first one and it's not a super complicated story. I might be in the minority, but I still recommend 2021 and 95 if you haven't seen it. Hell even the recent animated ones were ok.
