This reminds me of those early 2000s fantasy movies. Like spiderwick but darker and more serious and mature like. I t called my attention, I'll watch it. Coraline still one of the coolest dark animated movies aimed for children I evern seen. It also looks more serious than Paranormal and BoxTrolls, which is good

ParaNorman everyone likes but I have a hot take that BoxTrolls is a good movie too. Yes, it's a comedy, so what? Doesn't have to be serious. It's a funny and inventive movie with a great style.
Now Kubo was actually pretty dissapointing, it's just a nothingburger story. Missing Link was another attempt at a full on comedy like BoxTrolls, but it didn't pan out well either.
Wildwood does look great, hopefully it's on par with Coraline & ParaNorman.

It starts out good enough but doesn't go anywhere interesting. I mean the animation is still good and all, good enough to check it out just for that.

I'm not sure what's going on with the scriptwriting (and this was based on a book apparently too?) but the scripts have been increasingly derivative and "safe".
