I always liked Captain America in this scene just because he's asking the relevant questions, (totally in character), even though he has zero prior information about what the fuck is even going on. It's so understated and it's great:

Everyone in the room is pretty quick of the mark and senses an attack coming, but when he kicks the table flipping it up, that's a pretty fucking epic way to start, like he's still quicker thinking and a step ahead of everyone. There's some really great 'show don't tell' Captain America shit throughout the whole MCU, just in terms of him having leadership qualities, true heroic motivations, etc. Chris Evan turned out to be such great casting, (despite the actor himself being a bit of a douche IRL), but just goes to show how big a part of a good character comes from good writing instead of just the meatpuppet you put in the costume getting all the credit.

Ultron is unfairly maligned too. It does seem to rush through a lot of shit but the second time around it makes more sense and that gets less and less jarring, reckonising that everyone in the Avengers is quicker on the uptake than the average audience member, especially Cap, Stark, Ultron, and Vision.

I've always said the first Captain America, Thor and Iron Man are all good. Pretty much a master class in how to adapt comic book characters, they all strike the balance of preserving what's essential for the fans while still making it palatable to wider audiences just right without veering too far into either direction.
