TDK spelled out it's philosophy via exposition but plebs felt clever for understanding it. Inception likewise made people feel clever. TDKR was not memed enough, it's tired hackneyed plot, poor themes (occupy), hilarious action was awful. By the time we get to Interstellar, people are understanding he's dressing this shit up in style but it's still power of love bullshit ending. Then Tenet happened and people felt he was over. But for some strange reason Oppenheimer was the "cinema is back baby" moment? "Got to see it in IMAX!" I hate biopics at the best of times, they are tedious, lack a point or direction. But I somewhat feel like the Oppenheimer "cinema is back baby" memes tricked the plebs and they seethed. Dumb dumbs reported feeling bored. Some people turned on someone like Denis Villeneuve. His Dune movies, with their minimalist appearance being mocked as boring. I somewhat think audiences are applying that same feeling to this stripped down approach at the Odyssey.
