Why did Obi-wan claim he was defending democracy when the galactic senate was full of hereditary monarchs and wealthy aristocrats, many of who were ruling over oppressive regimes?
>>
>>220586701
Why does the financial/family status of the voter metter if they all democratically vote in the actual Senate?
>>
>>220586701
Lucas' ghey-ass Iraq War analogy
>>
>>220586701
the galactic senate was literally letting fucking corporations like the trade federation buy seats. maybe the Empire wasnt the answer but the Republic was fucking done
>>
>>220586804
Weird that the TF could buy seats in the senate but couldn't keep a fucking tax hike from being ratified...
>>
>>220586701
Star Wars movies are propaganda.
In reality Jedi order was corrupt and complacent and were diddling younglings like catholic church does.
>>
>>220586862
So why is George's fucking ending the return of the Jedi?
>>
>>220586701
It's almost like nothing the Jedi do makes any fucking sense.
>>
>>220586701
That's why you can't defeat fascism with liberalism

Anakin is Caesar here. Obi Wan is Brutus/The Senate.
>>
>>220586862
Yoda that was not.
Mickey Rooney maybe?
Over this interview is.

You can have democrat monarchies. The UK debatably has a better system that the US-the governing party can easily remove unpopular PMs whereas it's basically impossible to remove a President, indeed a president has never been forceably removed-apart from being killed
>>
>>220588188
The UK is still a top down hell hole. The US still has the seperation of powers cucks out the presidency, congress, amd judiciary to one another and even then the state governments have massive autonomy over themselves. The UK by comparisons will fuck anyone over based on whatever parliment says.

is this bitch the main antagonist of Star Wars? She literally voted for this, and then a decade later acts like she has no idea what's going on.
>>
>>220588515
Padme should have been an antagonist.
She should have been a true monarch
Palpatine should have orchestrated her parents death so she would step up to the throne early
Palpatine should have been a huge influence on her
She should have been a royal brat
She should have been for the Military creation act
She should have actively seduced Anakin because she wanted a Jedi King
She should have been Palpatine's greatest ally and should have been the reason Anakin got so close to him
She should have got knocked up on purpose to sink Anakin in
Palpatine should have framed the Jedi as trying to kill Padme
Padme would have been a far more interesting character.
I will die on this Hill

Did the trade federation even do anything wrong? They were fighting unfair tariffs, high taxation of trade routes, and I don't recall them hitting any non-military targets.
