I watched Lord of the Flies on Netflix and I was surprised by how graphic it was. I had no idea this show would turn so violent. Is the book even more graphic?

Many famous western books are uniquely offputting and terrible, slow and dull but full of passive hate and grossout elements. Atlas shrugged, lord of the flies, catcher in the rye, to kill a mocking bird, awful boring literature with nothing interesting to say.

Did you read the book? Can you tell me if there are mentions about what happened to the characters after they got rescued from the island?
>>

Not really.
The only deaths we get are from fatty getting squashed by a boulder, and that weirdo kid who can talk to pig heads getting stabbed to death, but the latter is described as almost a dreamlike sequence without any gory detail.

No it just ends

Maybe I'm dating myself but isn't Lord of the Flies mandatory reading school? How have you not read it?
>>
why don't they just eat Piggy? lad's fat and needs glasses (which will inevitably break anyway).

Sort of? Piggies death is described in very gratuitous detail. And I remember conversations with the Lord of the Flies was also graphic talking about his skin decaying off his bones etc.

Maybe I'm spitting on my dick and rawdoggin myself but no, for me it wasn't mandatory reading

Mandatory books change every year and schools can just make their own lists. Not to mention maybe OP isn't even american.

he gets killed eventually, I saw the original movie, it was creepy and sad. Not sure why my teacher made us read the book.

That sucks then. I was curious how those kids were civilized again after everything they did.
>>220590463
I had never heard of this book before I watched this show. It’s not popular in my country.
>>
>>220590312
basically adults show up and all the children immediately defer to them and start acting like normal civilized kids again
the end
>>

So basically they got away with murder. Where's the justice here? Some of those boys should have been placed into the juvenile justice system for what they did.
>>
>>220590885
the book isn't just about how quick they can devolve into savages, it's about how fast they can go back to normal too
They're kids after all

His glasses can magically start fires so he’s very important

>magically
I hope you know how to start fires without a lighter

Hello midwit
How’s your barefoot life?
>>

Of course they chickend out of killing piggie by having his skull geeting obliterated by a giant boulder. They had to follow the "uuuuhhh what just happened I feel so dizzy" type of death.
