The most 80's movie ever made.
>>
>>220594625
Underwater.

Top tier horror kino. Also Kstew spends a not insignificant amount of time running around in her underwear.
>>
>>220594625
Probably the best live action anime adaptation ever made. It's admittedly not a high bar to clear though.
>>
>>220594770
I simply cannot believe that this could have possibly been watchable.
>>
>>220594803
It got massive hate because Scarlett Johansen is white instead of Asian. But the movie itself isn't bad. She's an A-lister that tends to not do movies that are just straight up bad.

Spartan 2004

I fucking hate Mackie and although I want to hatefuck the actress I cannot stand her cheating on her husband. Is this film good enough to overcome that hurdle?

CRIMINALLY underrated movie.

The story isn't like Weapons. The level of production quality is like Weapons. Meaning it's not some Rob Zombie style horror schlock like It's title would suggest Also it's got kino Timothy Olyphant in it.
>>

Shit. Okay ill watch that. Don't know why cause I won't even bother to watch a Quiet Place 2 or the Quiet Place Beginnings movies.

Spartan was a fun watch but unintentionally. It kept building up the protagonist as the ultimate soldier-spy but he fucked up at everything and needed a revolving door cast of supporting characters to bail him out of the simplest situations. All while he delivers pretentious tough guy lines that are meant to sound badass but clash with his demonstrated incompetence. It's a fever dream.

It's always on the List of Kilmer's Classics

He had some real stinkers like The Saint, Top Secret, and TG Maverick

Ok hear me out.

Go watch episode 1 of of the 2001 animated series "Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier". It's free on Amazon. This will give you the origin story. It's only like 22 mins long.

Then watch this 2012 reboot "Re Cyborg 2009". (The 're' is for reboot) theatrical movie. It was a smash hit in Japan. Made by the guy that made Ghost in the Shell 2.

It's like going from Adam West Batman to The Dark Knight. They are two totally different takes with the same origin story. But the movie is absolute kino.

What's going on here?

TEST:

horror or sci-fi
>>
>>220595076
Easily a better Resident Evil movie than 95% of all the RE movies made and probably the upcoming one as well.
>>
>>220596350
Ghost's of Mars doesn't qualify because it's not good. If it was good it would qualify.

Concur. Worth a watch.

Underrated as fuck.

I suspect a lot of fags didn't like it because they didn't go in expecting 'Lord of the Flies'. Especially right after Titanic and DiCaprio becoming a big deal as a romantic lead, his female fans didn't seem to respond well to it. Also it steps directly on the political toes of myopic and hypocritical utopian lefty wankers.

One of the movies that made me start to respect Tilda Swinton as an actress, despite finding her androgynous look rather off-putting. Now I can't say enough good things about her. Still wounldn't, but by the gods I love her all the same. Perfectly cast as the hippy-dippy 'muh community' bitch. If you're a Zoom-Zoom who went to school during the Woke Era, you should probably watch it. You'll notice some interesting parallels.
>>
>>220597427

Yeah, there's that. I swear though that if The Beach is so much as mentioned Virginie Ledoyen immediately crowds everything else out of my mind.

Just a great little innovative film that deserves a mention and a couple of hours of your time no matter who you are. One of those movies that if you're one of the remaining people who haven't seen it yet for whatever reason, you just need to stop being a fag right now and watch it.

If you're OK with animation, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) doesn't have a lot of the type of anime faggotry that tends to turn people off, it's a genuine masterpiece of animation and style, it has a vampire who wants to escape into space on an ancient rocket ship
The Vampire Hunter D movie from 1985 is about the same character, very violent but obviously nowhere near as well crafted

There's actually a lot of tacticool//operator stuff in japanese animation, even if you want to avoid certain patterns of anime there's stuff like Jin Roh the Wolf Brigade (1999), another timeless masterpiece of style and animation, it's about a special police force set up to fight insurgent groups in a version of japan that was occupied after Germany won WW2.
You could check out the original Ghost in the Shell, that's operator kino as fuck
Sicario 1 and 2- treat them as separate movies
