>>220595150A little
>>220595039Do americans really have to go to work on weekends if their manager tells them to? Isn't that kinda slavery?
>>220595039I was told I can shitpost
>>220595522No. Peter would have gotten overtime pay 1.5x the normal amount for tapping on a keyboard Office Space is a movie made by people who didn't understand how easy office work is
>mfw I gave my two weeks notice last Thursday
>>220595522Depends on the job, but yeah it can happen. Mainly higher paid salary work though.
>>220595614that isn't true, salary employees do not get paid overtime
>>220595675Watch the movie next time, and keep in mind Peter wasn't a salary employee
>>220595150As an oppressed diaspora Jews are never racist.
>>220595750Are you sure? In that era they weren't just hiring wagie assholes for those types of jobs like they do with every jeet now
>>220595784In the United states, in order to be a salary employee, you typically have to be a supervisor. And even if you aren't a supervisor with subordinate employees beneath you, but for some reason you are paid on a salary basis, you are still owed overtime past 80 hour, bi weekly/40 hr weekly paychecksI myself was a salary employee who successfully sued for over 80 hour work weeks back pay
>>220595039Why does he look like Mick Blue?
>>220595039I fucking wish we still had cubicles. I hate my open office so god damn much.
>>220596100Lol and in the 80s and 90s they were seen as demoralizing because workers perceived that company as too cheap to give them real offices
>>220596100Open office is a humilition ritual. Fucking Jews took away the little privacy and dignity our private space provided.
>>220596194They're seen that way now
>>220596100>open office flex spots>hmmmyeah I'm going to need you to take your stuff and sit somewhere else, we need our team to sit together>only place left is loudest area near coffee machine kitchenette>can't work at home because that's bad for team spirit>teamlead calls in from home in Teams meetingI'm glad I work in engineering because it's 95% guys and I can funpost on 4chan while I design cool shit, but fuck this office.
>>220595944bullshit
>>220596366no..... that's how the law works. you can look it up, if you want, or I can help you get in touch with a lawyer : )
>>220596617Nah, you can't and you're wrong
>>220596272I think most people in open plan offices would gladly take cubicles
>>220595039Imagine a modern day Office Space.
>>220596194Which was true, but boomers thought that if they complained they'd get their own corner office. Instead they just got their cubicle taken away.
>>220597603I reminder that things can always get worse, and most likely will.
>>220595039I was hit by a car and now I've been wfh for a week despite it not being usually allowed
