It's an interesting enough and generally interesting series, but this. It also has a serious lack of subtlety. The characters always explain everything and the "message" is so explicit and direct and hamfisted it feels an insult to intelligence - as if Serling feels he need to explain everything because the viewer couldn't comprehend what the dialogue and scene, which is always as subtle as as a brick to the head, already made obvious.
The best parts about the series are the sets/fashions/aesthetics, which function as a cultural time machine, and the consistent stream of truly gorgeous and beautiful women of a better time. It's an entertaining series - very few would disagree - but its low-context directness and lack of subtlety harm it significantly.
