>$200 million budget for a He-Man movie in 2026
wtf were they thinking?
>>
>>220608324
>we want the lazy nostalgiaslop market
They are banking on millennial being maladjusted enough to get bleary-eyed and turn out in droves to remember a toy commercial from their misspent youth, and all markers indicate that they may be on the money.
>>
well it's being directed by travis knight
who is the heir to nike
also former rapper chilly tee

He-Man is Gen X toyslop
>>
>>220608406
kek I didn't know he was a nepo director
>>
>>220608449
>Gen X toyslop

based
>>
>>220608324
That's Mattel money. They throw old IPs they have at the wall hoping that at least one is a hit so they can sell you new toys.

>the woman looks like a tranny

color me surprised
>>
Where are these people who will write $200 million for any retarded idea you throw out there?
>>
>>220608860
Then why do they fuck up the cast and shit up the colors?
>>
>>220608927
99.9% of new movies are made strictly for social engineering, hence why everything is ugly and pozzed, hope it helps
>>
>>220608947
Then the toy sales argument doesn't hold water
>>
>>220609192
Selling toys hasn't been a thing for decades now, the other anon is wrong. Or do you think movies being made badly on purpose for a long fucking time now is just an unlucky streak and execs are all clueless all the time ;)
>>
>$1m for the movie
>$199m for marketing
>>
>>220608324
Billion dollar film
Trillion dollar franchise
It has the POWER
>>
>>220608324
They want to revive the brand and get kids interested in it again so they can sell more toys. The problem is the movie looks like MCUslop and nobody likes that anymore. They honestly would've been better off doing a kind of gritty reimagining instead to appeal to teens rather than trying to do a goofy Guardians of the Galaxy type thing.

Knight is the CEO of studio Laika and directed some of their best movies, so he definitely has chops despite the fact his daddy bought him a movie studio

If PixelDan says its good than I'll watch it

They were thinking infinite growth is real and that if they just spend more money then they'll receive more money in return. Near 0% interest rates and an ever ballooning stock market for well over a decade have absolutely mind-broken the American business class and now nobody knows how to do anything other than grab money from the bank and throw it in the air and hope more falls down than what they threw up in the first place. Innovation is dead and now the whole US economy runs solely on the jewish banking principal of taking somebody else's money and handing it off to someone else and demanding they pay you 10x what you gave them. It was always just an extended game of musical chairs and the music has finally stopped and it turns out someone took all the chairs out of the room years ago and sent them all to China. Now we're incapable of producing literally anything of value.

Why did they have to cast fucking Jared Lego as Skeletor, man
>>
>>220608906
You're not part of the tribe so they won't give YOU $200million to piss away
>>
>>220609540
Movie needed at least a single KINO actor.
>>
>>220608324
These people make these things and expect me to shit my pants and consume product. This is so far from the source material it’s ridiculous.
>>
are you just ignorant to the inflated hellscape that is trumps econony or what?
>>
>>220609624
The DEI casting is the worst part. Even Teela. I like that actress but she ain't Teela. Man At Arms and Fisto aren't black. The Sorceress ain't a mutt. And Ram Man isn't chinese. Not my He-Man.
>>
I voted for that.
>>
Surprised he wasn't called "They-Man."
>>
>>220608406
>travis knight
that's the second toy franchise the dude's mishandled and hopefully the last
>>
>>220609716
now you know why moviegoers all hate Odyssey
>>

retard dipshit zoomerchild…

https://youtu.be/mBw3qzf4s18

that is the only connection between mill’s and he-man…

i somehow doubt this version is going to be as fun.
>>
>>220609540
he's our generations jim carrey
>>
>>220609730
That's gonna be the sequel, followed by the last movie in the trilogy, She-Man.
>>
>>220608324
Leto’s voice is so pitch modulated you can’t even tell it’s him. Either he has dirt on someone to land these roles or the industry is applying the “Well if the movie tanks we can just blame it on Leto and people will run with that” strat
>>
>>220608324
Did they set that up in the bathroom?
>>
>>220608324
they were thinking they would spend 50 mil on a heman movie and funnel 150 to themselves
>>
>>220608904
I am watching the movie now
>>
>>220608406
didnt this guy already fail in animation. the costumes look pretty good from the poster, probably cause they look similar to the old movie

why
>>
>>220611180
He runs, as well as directs and animates at, Laika. So actually I would say his involvement with this movie is a good sign.
>>
>>220608406
>who is the heir to nike
Leave him be. For a nepo baby, he's actually good. He uses that money to keep a basically dead form of filmmaking alive.
>>
>>220608324
I can't wait for the day we get rid of 80's manchildren holding back pop culture.
>>
>>220608904
I swear to god it's not normal to spend your entire day thinking about trannies

Except of course the uncomfortable fact that it ran on TV up to 1990 which coincides with the time fuckwitted millennial chuck e cheese nostoi such as yourself would have been glued to that particular appliance and forming a unhealthy emotional bond with corporate properties.
>>
>>220608324
is there anyone under 45 years old who cares about he man
>>

It isn't that people/companies don't try, they just don't have the same success or staying power.

Clutch Cargo was probably airing on Boomerang until 2014 or something but that doesn't mean it's part of your average zoomer's childhood you retard. He-man was completely out of fashion by the late 80's and only the oldest Millenials would've been around for it.
>>

The composition of this cardboard cutout is so fucking bad.
>>
>>220608324
I kind of don't like that he got transported to Earth and is basically reverse Star Lord. It's often a cheap storytelling tactic that allows the writers to introduce sci-fi and fantasy things that they think audiences would find to be too weird by having the characters constantly compare things they're familiar with. I remember playing with the toys when I was very young and don't really remember much of the show, but it's probably going to be an okay movie.
>>
>>220611568
>Even Travis Knight's signature feminist franchise work isn't woke enough anymore
The past decade has really done a number on these people. This doesn't even come close to what i would consider to be a male power fantasy movie.
>>
>>220608324
46 year old boomer here and I doubt anyone even gives a shit about He-Man unless they're at least my age. By the time the 1987 movie came out the franchise was already dead and kids moved on to stuff like Transformers and ThunderCats.
