Having actually experienced it and managed stores the reality is, most of the people shoplifting are either drug addicts reselling shit (drug addicts are not "le poor victims with a disease" considering how much they terrify and terrorise their family and their communities), rich kleptomaniac bitches or simple thugs. Not the poor downtrodden masses stealing from wasteful corporations. The more you steal the more shit stores implement to make the shopping experience worse for everyone. Poor minimum wage workers have to put up with the mental illness of these shoplifters. Stores close. Stores offer less. Prices go up. Police do nothing and the cycle gets worse. And when something finally bad happens to you as a result of this decline of society and you complain about the breakdown of authority, culture, values, you won't realise it but your attitude will have contributed to your situation. Get fucked.
