If you're looking for Chinese kino I highly recommend A Touch of Sin. It's a sort of noir where they loosely adapted 4 true crime stories into 4 different vignettes.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MIIgK_k6fwThe stories are:>A middle aged lawyer is something of a local troublemaker in a mining town. When the mine was privatized one of his friends became rich in the deal but everyone else was screwed. When the rich guy is back in town the lawyer starts making trouble for him, so his goons attack him and put him in the hospital. Ultimately this causes him to become a laughingstock in the town so he snaps and becomes a mass shooter that kills the oligarch and a lot of random people who were dicks to him.>A wandering serial killer returns home to his family so he can attend his mother's 70th birthday, without telling anyone he was coming. His family is not happy to see him, and after giving some money to his wife he then waits outside a bank until he sees someone he thinks will have money, murders them, and runs off.>a spa worker is in a relationship with a married man whose wife hires goons to beat her. She leaves town in a migrant transport and is witness to a brutal shakedown by corrupt party bosses. These same bosses later pressure her into sleeping with her and she murders them with a kitchen knife.>A teenager runs away from a debt, and a friend of his sets him up with a job as a waiter in a high class brothel. He falls in love with one of the girls and tries to start a relationship with her. After dating her for a while he asks her to run away with him but she refuses because she has to take care of her kid. Shocked by the rejection he quits the job and starts working at a factory. His creditors eventually catch up to him and he is severely beaten, and his parents are angry at him for not sending them remittances. In the face of all that and the grim reality of life as a factory worker he jumps off the roof of the factory dormitory and kills himself.
