I think what bothers me about this is that by having the villain try to bargain his way out of defeat, even if it's in as humiliating a way you can think of, it's not satisfying because he still hasn't admitted defeat. I think of the Ace Attorney games and their villain breakdowns, and what makes them so satisfying is that the antagonist is throwing a tantrum BECAUSE he knows he's finished and nothing he can do will get him out of it. It makes you go, "Yeah, we finally nailed this piece of shit," instead of just being pathetic for everyone involved.
