It did some things right. Having a Superman that could hear everyone dying, the expectations of everything, the constant fear of being found out and the ones who found out being in danger. But there were way too many last minute asspulls, the end got stupid, and every other character was retarded. The not Doctor Who ripoff, the twins who were secretly triplets, the demons they made a pact with, the aliens that they made a deal with, no wait not those aliens the other aliens, oh and by the way everyone EVERYONE is secretly evil?

I'm with you guys. We don't need another evil superman adaptation. When it comes out I will simply not watch it AND I will not seethe about it online AND I will not watch it through short form clips in order to pretend that I watched it when I see people online having fun with the show.

Irredeemable is actually pretty good and the twist works pretty well, but you'd have to fully commit to it for the delivery to make sense.The Boys went to shit because the writers obviously had no idea how to interpret the source material, which had some bouts of greatness, so they just turned it into the most mind-numbingly contrived social commentary imaginable with no commitment to the ideas that made the original great in the first place. yes, the original was heavy in critiquing the US and the relationship between military and private industry, as well as people's rapid inclination towards authoritarian rule, but it just got trampled and flattened into material that's instantly recognizable, elicits no thought, and just serves as clipbait for people who clap when they see shit they recognize on tv.
