Plutonian. It’s Superman but if he landed in a house of a single mom. Goes apeshit at the start of the series and the whole plot is about finding a way to kill him before he murders everyone. It had a shit ending but some really great plot that could work on the screen.

Regular superman has black hair so it’s an easy way to distinguish them (regardless, the Plutonian in the OP can just change his hair color on a whim and makes his hair brown to blend in when he’s a civilian until he breaks bad and starts wrecking the world)

Nolan in invincible is their superman analog and he’s dark haired
>>

Out of all evil supermans this one was the most shit. Writing was stupid, inconsistent, and anger inducing. Here's the ending, the evil huwhite man is tricked into sacrificing himself, his identity stolen and taken to real world jews outside the comic to invent Superman in ours. No seriously.

> One of the greatest comic book writers ever and yet /co/ hates him for some reason.
why
>>
>>220624598
But I liked it :/
>>
>>220624598
The comic had its issues but I felt that as a character Plutonian was the best depiction of what an evil Superman would realistically be like. The responsibility coupled with the super hearing would drive anyone insane.
>>
>>220624598
Plutonian is imo the most realistic depiction of what an actual person with supe’s powers would end up like. He gets wildly evil later on, but his initial meltdown was pretty good. The ending does suck ass but then they can modify it if it’s ever actually adapted.
>>
>>220624988
>>220625027
Yeah mang, I really enjoyed how everybody turns out to be insanely evil for no reason. Really doesn't get old at all. Eating babies as soon as you have power is totally a natural thing.

Also entire side note, but fuck the "good" ones for letting the alien wasp race devastate the galaxy raping and planting babies that will eat their way out of you, after they could have stopped them easily. Like so many other story beats, it's clear the writer just got bored and dropped it.

>>220625109
Da fuck? Are you jewish? That's the only fucking reason I can imagine you thinking him committing genocide because a kid didn't like him is 'realistic'.
>>
>>220625175
No? Why is it every time some autistic on this board doesn’t like something he freaks the fuck out and puts words in my mouth? I’m talking about Tony going apeshit from being overwhelmed at the expectations of the public and his fear of being a ticking time bomb (which he is). As I said he gets wildly evil later on, and the writing gets a bit heavy-hnaded, but it’s a fundamentally good look at what a normal conflicted person would be like if they had unimaginable power. To answer your question for the record, yes, unquestionably if I had Tony’s powers I would be a murderer. I don’t know about genocide, but I could see myself slipping down the road as I become disillusioned.

It’s not always kikes. Sometimes you can just have a normal fucking conversation. Give it a shot.
>>
>>220625118
>Yeah mang, I really enjoyed how everybody turns out to be insanely evil for no reason. Really doesn't get old at all. Eating babies as soon as you have power is totally a natural thing.
But that's wrong? Plutonian didn't instantly go evil, we're shown his slow descent into madness.
>>
>>220625118
>Eating babies as soon as you have power is totally a natural thing.
it is absolutely natural for someone with ultimate power to become a monster. It’s the norm, not the exception.

I don't think Irredeemable would work because Plutonian is a psychopath, not a narcissist like Homelander. Pluto has none of the charisma or fun of The Seven. Also that 10th Doctor ripoff needs a full rework. Its cute in the comic in the show its just lazy. I'd honestly say Incorruptible would work better as a show if you want to do "The Boys but better". Even if you keep jailbait. Max will give the actor something to work with and Plutonian can just be Homelander but pure evil.

Miracleman turns the entire human race into superbeings and establishes what amounts to a post-scarcity free love utopia where all relationships are open and shit. The pedo angle comes from his hybrid superhuman daughter that comes out the womb with the mind of a wise adult. At age 5 or something she decides to explore the universe, and pops back in occasionally to talk about her massive alien orgies, and she's also always naked.

The whole book is about how he's completely cut off from the human experience and his looks are a lie. He is not like any of the other mostly white heroes in the book including Temu Doctor Who. Shut up and go read the comic; it's in the first issue and continues for the whole run. This is why he won't be as popular as Homelander. Plutonian is a cuck, incel, and psychopathic simp for whores and sluts that gets off on being cut. I could go into some details beyond this shit like the gay lex luthor and the underage boy he pals around with, but let's cut it off here.

That was actually a dropped story point in BvS. In MoS, it’s established that Clark finds his senses, specifically his super-hearing, overwhelming. That’s the point of Martha telling Clark to visualize her voice as an island and to swim to it. He essentially chooses a “focus” to tune out the rest. At some point, he shifts that focus to Lois, and when he opens himself up to look for his mom, he’s briefly overwhelmed by all the terrible shit going on in the world that he has to unconsciously ignore on a regular basis just to have some semblance of a normal life. It got cut for being too dark, but I really wish they’d left that in, as it would have driven home the point that, appearances to the contrary, he’s not a god, that despite all his power he’s as human as the rest of us.

Comics Superman hears mostly good shit happening, which is why he can pick out the bad stuff so easily. Also, he does not ignore it; he trusts humans to fix their own issues. He only steps in if it's something only he can uniquely help with, which is why he calls it "a job for Superman."

I'm just here to point out Hollywood still does not understand Superman.

I reread Transmetropolitan recently and honestly, I found it possibly extremely relevant in a lot of ways, from the way technology change humans but really don't change people, and how politicians are not above engineering crisis to remain in power.

Now obviously it's a little bit pink on the glasses, with the free press being heralded as one of the way to get people to rise up, but maybe it would be good to remember what was lost.

Never bothered with this one because I heard there was a tranny in it. I can't possibly imagine how jewish a live action adaptation of this in modern day would be
>>
>>220632856
Just that one page of how he sees the world tells you how very messed up his mind really was. Everyone looks like rotting corpses to him.
>>
>>220632741
Another thing that frequently gets forgotten is that unless we’re talking about Silver Age fuckery, having super-hearing doesn’t make sound travel any faster and he’s not capable of “hearing” some sort of quantum-level vibrations from galaxies away. By the time he’s heard the gunshot in LA, the murders’s already happened.
>>
>>220631965
Correct. Essentially he was raised by a flawed mentally unstable woman who imparted that onto him. The alien thing was really just the author losing control of the plot I think, before that point it was generally pretty good.
>>
>>220631894
Yes, as opposed to all the world if he were killed. Orian would have kicked the shit out of Cary and destroyed the planet for sure.
>>
I've been hoping for an Hitman show for years. My current cope is that once Invincible ends they'll try to get the ball rolling on an animated version. Even though I'm hoping for it I don't have any delusions about it being good.

Thank God. There are certainly some things I didn't like about the og miracleman (all of marvelman being a vr hallucination is a cheap retcon) but Neil took the comic in the most boring direction possible.

Why settle for anything less than an adaptation of 'Black Summer'?
>>
>>220633032
Yeah, I know. I’m just saying that if Qubit had not spared Tony by killing Orian, Orian would have finished killing Tony, then killed Cary, then there would have been literally nothing left to stop him. I guess there’s the possibility of Tony’s parents helping, though, but they’re an unknown quantity since they show up for so little and then just fuck off
>>
>>220633160
A bit heavy on the girl bossing. Especially at the end. It had it's moments.
>>
>>220633099
But enough about Miracleman
>>
>>220632936
>having super-hearing doesn’t make sound travel any faster and he’s not capable of “hearing” some sort of quantum-level vibrations from galaxies away.
That's entirely possible depending on the hackery level of the writer. That's one of the many reasons why I stopped reading capeshit books. The wild inconsistency of everything: plot, past events, power levels, etc. Pic related was published in the early 2000s
>>
>>220632932
I guess maybe that's how a god would see mortals. Even one from a smaller universe.

The twist is you think he's going to become Superman, but he turns out to be The Hulk. A fucking murder hobo hunted by the military across the desert until his Rick Jones comes to calm him down. This book would make for a good movie, but half the comics' shit in it would be missed by the normies because it's not in the MCU. Still, what he did to his brother and his wife was dark. Maybe a bit too far which keeps it out of adaptation discussions.

Kingdom Come was right. We've had enough of these edgy, subversive, awful """heroes""". We need Superman back. THE Superman.
>>
>>220633192
I'd definitely say it could benefit from being adapted. The comic has the guts of a really top tier superhero story, but the comic itself only gets about 7/10 of it across.
>>
>>220633160
A bit preachy and I've never liked the art but could make a decent limited series.
>>
>>220628313
They never do, because it has to do with the rank of billing being different for text (left to right) and imagery (center to sides).
It always looks stupid, but I think all covers do it.
>>
>>220633249
what
>>
>>220633319
It's *extremely* preachy lol, but it's not trying to sneak it in or even be all that subversive. It's trying to tell a story about this kind of collision between how the world works in superhero comics and how the world works in real life, the author has their argument about it and lays it out.
>>
>>220633160
They couldn't adapt No Hero. They'd fuck that one all the way up.
>>
>>220633386
I just wish the argument was more told through the story instead of having the main character literally spell it all out at the end.
>>
>>220624215

I love the blunt, technical, but also kind of lyrical way Ellis writes. You can tell when Ellis wrote some shit even in his episode of JLU.
>>
>>220633249
This is in the gayman one ffs
>>
>>220633466
The writers of such stories cannot write a good character because the concept of goodness is so alien to their being so they use turning superheroes evil as a crutch to pollute the genre with their stream of diarrhea so they may profit off of it.

>>
>>220633489
Ellis writing superhero comics is cringe since he still loves them.
Even at his most cynical when he is crititquing stuff like the Fantastic Four he unironically writes a white, pure as snow even, man being cucked.
All comic writers are deranged lefty faggots.
>>
>>220633466
It only really works when there is a baseline of 'good Superman' in the media. We haven't really had that in decades. The Boys, Irredeemable, Invincible, a few others, they all worked at the time because they were the curdling of the evil Superman stuff that comics were experimenting with, while the general audience still had a very clear idea of what good Superman was like.

Two decades of evil Superman being as common as flawed Superman being as common as good Superman kind of diluted all of that.

>>220633489
>blunt, technical, but also kind of lyrical way
That's an excellent description!
>>
>>220624215
Unironically loved the ending to this.

If it was going to adapted I think it would need to be animated. The boys fucked up by being live action because they had to wind down the scale.

I liked that the very first episode of the boys seemed like it was gonna be more physically realistic but then it wasnt.
are there any super hero comics that are true to physics and keep all powers be theoretically possible?

It did some things right. Having a Superman that could hear everyone dying, the expectations of everything, the constant fear of being found out and the ones who found out being in danger. But there were way too many last minute asspulls, the end got stupid, and every other character was retarded. The not Doctor Who ripoff, the twins who were secretly triplets, the demons they made a pact with, the aliens that they made a deal with, no wait not those aliens the other aliens, oh and by the way everyone EVERYONE is secretly evil?

>Saves Tony's life, steals the magic instakill bullet, and fucks over his friend's one chance to redeem herself. Directly leads to mass slaughter.
>Saves Tony from space prison, delivers gay Lex Luthor straight to him which further enables Tony's mass murders, and collapses an entire space empire that had perfectly honored a deal with him.
>Saves Tony from the end of the universe, directly undoing the point of the spirit journey he had with his magic parents.

I'm with you guys. We don't need another evil superman adaptation. When it comes out I will simply not watch it AND I will not seethe about it online AND I will not watch it through short form clips in order to pretend that I watched it when I see people online having fun with the show.
>>
>>220633308
Kingdom Come Superman is soooooo fucking based.
>>
>>220635721
It's actually better than watchmen in alot of ways, one of the only comics i went out of my way to own fully in fact (usually i find them disposable, particularly cape related stuff).

>>220635728
It's sharp and get's to the point with it's critique, which is why i think it holds a lot of weight. Would have to be just a 10 episode thing imo, like 'The Terror' or something.

They'd completely fuck it up though, no one would have the balls to recreate it 1-for-1.
>>
>>220636014
>It's sharp and get's to the point with it's critique, which is why i think it holds a lot of weight.
Yup
>Sidekicks are there to be fucked over for sales, and it's really fucked up if you think about it.
That's it.

And it practically being parody helped greatly.

>>
>>220636303
we have to take it on a case-by-case basis; in Wanted's case, it was a shit comic to begin with that had a terrible cringe plot. Irredeemable is actually pretty good and the twist works pretty well, but you'd have to fully commit to it for the delivery to make sense.
The Boys went to shit because the writers obviously had no idea how to interpret the source material, which had some bouts of greatness, so they just turned it into the most mind-numbingly contrived social commentary imaginable with no commitment to the ideas that made the original great in the first place. yes, the original was heavy in critiquing the US and the relationship between military and private industry, as well as people's rapid inclination towards authoritarian rule, but it just got trampled and flattened into material that's instantly recognizable, elicits no thought, and just serves as clipbait for people who clap when they see shit they recognize on tv.
