Yeah really liked the first one, simple revenge premise and good action. Kinda tuned out with the the retarded world building as it drags on and on and on in the sequels like the lore of the hotel of assassins and le epic hobo assassins.
He got his revenge in the first one and that should have been it. and kept the world as vague as possible.

There are sequences I like in the other ones. I like the part in weapons museum place with all the historical weapons. I like the horse/motorcycle chase. I like the dogs. But yeah, the first one is really good from top to bottom and the sequels are overall a lot weaker.

I don’t think they rule the planet, it’s more that they’re so organized and powerful that normal society just kind of accepts their existence and operation. This is shown even in 1 with Wick’s cop friend who doesn’t dare fuck with him even when he sees a dead body in his house. Not to mention that crowds of civilians barely react to mortal combat happening right next to them, like it’s a fairly common occurrence and they know they’re not in danger because it’s just among the assassins, real greaseball shit
