why don't TV shows have stakes anymore? Even on the very finale, why not show a world war with supes? Why not show mass genocide? Then the world rebuilding? Why does everything have to be so tame even in fiction?
TV shows that go on for too long end up using up 90% of their budget for the stars' salaries, leaving everything else with minimal effort.
Look at what happened to walking dead. Good at first, then taken over and sloppified. Zero stakes, zero happenings, zero anything. Still successful. That's the hollywood formula.
They've had super plot armor for 5 seasons man
>>220631346Everything needs of have a Marvel movie ending as to not upset the millennial chungus watchers.
>>220631346because the collective hysteria resulting from the game of thrones ending ensured that tv shows would never take risks or upset the audience ever again
Also, why are Producers/Showrunners, or whatever they're called, such fucking pussies?>season 1 is a banger>showrunner gets praised>"Heh, no biggie. I guess that's just what happens if you love your job!">season X makes the audience realize that they're in for a rugpull, but the investment wasn't money but their time>"Eat a bag of Dicks! We don't need you! Our REAL fans like the show!"
>>220631459its the worst example I guess, and literally not even over, daryl is doing shit in france rn isn't he
>>220631346A supe war would have just been a full on comic copypasta and Marvel bullshit. They should have just done something different instead of basically copying the comics at the very end.
>>220631390Maybe they should've made this a movie trilogy.
>>220631346budgetmost of bthe money goes towards actors
>>220632532thats only because they refuse to kill any main characters off.
>>220631346anymore? when did TV shows ever have stakes? No matter how good a show starts out, no matter how good the premise, all tv shows devolve into soap opera.
>>220631346okay, like what?family? antiquatedcountry? pffffffftmoney? don't kid.what is worth fighting for today that has mass appeal, that everyone can agree is a good cause
>>220632869teh lulz
The annoying thing for me is that they could have done something really shocking and memorable, or something controversial, but instead they chose the lame, bland predictable "safe" option.5/10 episode, completely forgettable and there's several better episodes in the whole series.
>>220631346Unironically I bet budgetInflation ravaged Tinseltown
>>220631346UE I NEED OM LAMBDA TO POISON DA SUPES BUT HE DOID AND NOW NOBODY WILL SHOW UP TO WORK AT VOUGHT TODAY SO HOW CAN I POISON EM UE
>>220631346>fighting in the oval office for ages>no security arriving>no extra supes arriving>no helicopters starting to circle>no swat teams>for a moment the entire city was empty except for the people in that room
>>220631722They're the theater kids but grown up. People in creative fields are, in general, very sensitive and self-absorbed because it becomes a very personal thing for them. Those who are just careerists are trying to save face and protect the brand, and/or they have a big ego from prior success. And finally, a lot of them are simply jewish.
>>220632389Seeing all the filler it shouldAlso being made during early 2000s, Starr would be at his peak and the trump paranoia syndrome didn't exist
