In late 2023 a Youtuber called hbomberguy uploaded a 4 hour long (literally) video essay called "Plagiarism and You(Tube)" where he goes through a bunch of examples of plagiarism on Youtube to make some meta point about media literacy or whatever. Before this, he used to make left-wing video essays arguing with alt-righters and anti-SJWs. In typical leftist fashion, most of the video is actually dedicated to taking down his fellow gay lefty James Somerton, but about twenty minutes of the video is about Internet Historian's "Man in Cave Video", proving that he copied almost the entire script word for word from an old Mental Floss article and then had to cover this up after it got copyright striked. Of course, hbomberguy also takes a few potshots against Internet Historian for being too chuddy in the process.

Due to negative polarization, people on 4chan and Xitter now need to pretend that Internet Historian didn't plagiarize anything at all because the guy who pointed it out is a leftist. They also need to pretend his videos are good.
