Black Noir was a clone created to kill Homelander if he ever went postal. The problem is Homelander was not really that bad, all the heroes were assholes, Homelander wasn't evil in particular. In order to make Homelander turn evil, Black Noir took photos of himself doing shit like eating babies and killing people. Seeing the photos slowly drove Homelander insane and made him think he was evil because as far as Homelander was aware, he would randomly black out and go eat babies. So Homelander did go insane and try to take over the nation. Homelander is never redeemed, he just realizes he turned evil over a very stupid trick that might as well have been Photoshop. He fights Black Noir and gets torn to shreds but not before leaving Black Noir on death's door too.

That's my problem with the show, it's so schizophrenic about what it wants Homelander to be. Show Homelander has a much sadder backstory than Comic Homelander does, but the show can't decide if Homelander is supposed to be tragic or not. They also heavily setup the Noir twist with multiple clues throughout.

Black Noir kept in the background and did pretty much nothing apart from random appearances, like the Deep. At most we saw that he was just as psycho and deranged as the rest of the supes.
As far as the reader was concerned he was just a background character, which made the plot twist of him suddenly being the big baddie work pretty well. Ennis' comics tend to be dogshit but this particular twist was pretty well executed.

because the show is a lib corporate shit. The whole concept of The Boys in the comics is that the system is wrong, while in the show we are, again, at a point where it's not the system, but the bad people that makes the system wrong.

Yes, because it's shown as a monopolistic entity without any nuance (there were this thing about super terrorist, but let's forget about this because reasons): to show the system is wrong you can't have a single element that represent evil incarnate, but a plurality of wrongdoings.
In the comics, this is portrayed with the Vought being made of tons of people who works to make it successful while supes are just stars of the showbiz.
Another element of how lib the show is, it's how they changed Starlight finale: in the comics, she retires, as one of the fews with superpowers that somehow survives (Butcher kills everyone... including Kimiko, MM and Frenchie). The message is that no matter how good you are, that power has not to be used. Meanwhile, in the TV show... she is just a superheroine doing something good when people are struggling. Basically, the message of this shit show is an edgier, more convoluted version of Spiderman's message about great powers and great responsabilities. All this because, hey, the show was successful, we can do spinoffs now!
