i can't watch this show it makes me too sad. i dropped it at some point in s4. everyone in the show is so depressing oh my god. single, aging, failed men. pete white and billy quizboy, henchman 21. it's connected to the 2000s in the way that makes it feel basically historical/obsolete to me. it has this weird respect for institutions and positions of power that has just completely eroded since they made it. no one thinks that way anymore and swaths of the show are just incomprehensible now. people back then gave enough of a shit about "the war on terror", the UN, similar, to the point where it was broadly legible to the audience that these cartoon characters have similar cares and motives. i am thinking of the guild, super science, osi, sphinx, how everyone thought about universities. for example, at the time there were respected-enough real-life people that you could have cartoon characters like sergeant hatred and general treister be considered interesting, relevant, funny. need a triana or a dr mrs the monarch in my life. i need to get my life together.

Always thought this show was never that funny just like King of the Hill. It is never what is being said that people seem to find funny but the delivery instead. And believe me, I gave it many chances. I watch multiple seasons.
